Been a bit since I’ve posted. Life and work has been hectic but I finally finished up the Banshees. Their helms have a sheen to them from the gloss coat that should be covered up once I varnish them.
Thanks for looking.

My goodness, thank you all for the kind words! It seems like these 5 took so much more time to finish than all those cultists. So up next is Jain Zar, here is a few pics. I signed up for Para’s monthly challenge to see if I can get her done this month.

@Graven her hair is probably the most intimidating part of the fig... may attempt it the way GW did it.

I never undestood the hair on the model anyways. Like, that small neck, such vollume? That is bound to at some point get stuck somewhere and break her neck at some point

Fair enough, I think it could go a bit darker personally (druchi wash?) - or go full mad Starfire hair!

Neck-breaking headgear is not unique to her. Lots of helmets on minis would snap necks if they looked sideways quick, or get caught on shoulderpads, etc. Jain has always been the queen of big ‘80s hair, but it was in style when she first came out. At least it’s not metal anymore. (well, big hair is always going to be a little metal )
Surprised how much bigger she is over the normal banshees. A lot of that is the hair and the pose, but I guess she’s the Phoenix Lord for a reason! Looking forward to how she ends up. And there is not upper limit on how crazy to go when painting that hair!

Hehe really enjoying the comments about her hair. My guess is the same as Solar, lots of conditioner and her favorite song is “I whip my hair back and forth”.
Just another WIP photo, may go a bit more starfire on the highlights. Threw in a few pics too of my Wednesday night game. Played against a chaos army made up of T-sons and the Black Legion. Got in 3 turns before we had to quit, ended 14 to 16 chaos winning. 2 more turns and I think it would have ended in my favor.
Thanks for looking.

Real big fan of the gold on her armor. She's turning out great. For the spear an energy or lightning effect would be cool. For the Silent Death, I am not sure. Maybe another energy effect?

Yeah, I think a power effect would be a good choice. It seems to be my go to colour at the moment, but I think a purple, maybe with a tinge of blue would complement the red and green really well. Though the dull metallic you’ve got on the other ladies looking blades would work too.
Looks like a packed place that you play at

@Youwashock and Gobert, I like the idea of a power effect on her blade. Perhaps similar to the Banshees but brighter silver with a blue glow? For her triskele was thinking of doing the same.
