Say if i just wanted to run formations of just canoptek harvest with my formation of renegades and heretic The Purge formation. Will canoptek harvest work well enough with traditional necron support?

T5, 2W, 3++, Str6 rending and a 12" move for 40 points? I5 for 3 more ppm? That's never going to be bad. Even without a 4+++, (and they can still have a 5+++), it's a tarpit that can actually kill things over a turn or 2 and will weather an obscene amount of shooting.

Keep the Spyder basic. Do not add scarabs to the formation as 1 spawns every turn due to the sypder and then go with 5/6 Wraiths all with coils. Run 2 formations of the C.Harvest to have more coverage and do more damage.

The canoptek harvest is the main reason necrons can be top tiers. It's an autoinclude.

scarabs can be good, but the main stars of the show is the wraiths. Depends on how many points you have to play with but basically you want as many wraiths as you can, if you have the points give them coils, but its not necessary.

Incredible tarpits, awesome movement (ignore all terrain when moving), beasts, good statline. Best formation in our codex

I've run 2 Harvests alongside Eldar before (heresy, I know).
Each Harvest has the minimum Scarabs and Spider, with 5 Whip coil Wraiths in each.

Even without the +1 RP, they were very hard to kill. Coupled with plenty of Scatter bikes and a WraithKnight, I've won 2 tourneys with it. And not just won, but destroyed each and every one of my opponents so badly that I permanently retired the Harvests (sold them on eBay). My group is a bit more casual and I detest Come the Apoc allies

The fun thing about having 2 Harvests, is than you get more out of the Scarabs/Spiders. By moving Spider A forward and spawning a Scarab in Scarab unit A, then moving Spider B forward and spawning another Scarab in the same unit, you can add 7" to the unit forward before moving. So those total 5 Scarabs can now move and charge turn 1.
You can only do this with 2 separate Spiders as each on has to spawn a Scarab in coherency with a Scarab that was already there. So Spider B can spawn off of the Scarab previously spawned by Spider A.
Keep the other Scarab unit back with the Spiders to repeat this next turn.

Sorry to derail this slightly, so to get this concept in my head properly, you would start the scarabs and both spyders close to each other, move spyder A up, spawn a scarab base within 6" of the spyder and 3" in front of the front scarab base. Repat this with spyder B and then move the scarabs forward, and because you've added 6" of forward distance to the scarabs before the no-mans land between them and the enemy's front line is only 6" after their beastly 12"?!

Genius! Im kinda frustrated I sold my second spyder now

When I initially read it I thought you moved the scarabs first, then the spyders, and was confused as the sypders rule stipulates the spawned base has to be within 6" of the spyder

Correct, you move the Spiders first (1 at a time, obviously) create the Scarabs with the second one spawning off the first.
That adds 7" (2" coherency x2, 1.5" bases x2). Now you move the Scarabs. The front-most Scarab is now 19" from your deployment line (as long as you deployed at your line and moved straight forward)

At best, though, this is just a distraction as it is doubtful that there will be a unit close enough to charge if you opponent knows you have Wraiths.

In my games, I found that opponents could not handle both threats. They could kill the Wraiths, but that meant my Scatter bikes would be untouched for most of the game. Or they ignored the Wratihs in favor of killing the Spiders or Bikes

To the OP, Necrons being Allies of Convenience with CSM (thus R&H) will make your combo work even better. Using all those T7 Artillery units as a base you can easily threaten any target, have a very tough army and Wraiths can do some work. Just make sure you have 5+ Wraiths in each unit.
And I highly recommend these conversions as a way to get the most out of your money:

My spiders were made out of Wraiths without tails and my Wraiths were made out of Lych Guard/Pretorians

Still, a first turn charge can draw attention from the rest of the army, even for a little bit, from a unit that could be considered a tax in the formation is still a good thing!

I didn't know those conversions were yours Galef! I have seen them before, very cool. One thing I must say to OP if you are planning on converting lych/praets to wraiths, is that you can now get 3D printed tails for them, have a dig through the painting and modelling section if you are keen, I've included a reference photo to get an idea.

As Wraiths are tarpit specialists, the Harvest by itself is not enough to win games.

I personally never used the Decurion even once. My Canoptek Harvest list worked great. Really great. I did a CAD plus two Harvests.
