My only friend who plays 40k really hates AoS, just because he doesn't want to start a new game, and I really love skeleton warriors. Are there any uses for them in 40k?

Proxy them as Bloodletters? Chaos is your best bet here.

H.B.M.C.- The end hath come! From now on armies will only consist of Astorath, Land Speeder Storms and Soul Grinders!
War Kitten- Vanden, you just taunted the Dank Lord Ezra. Prepare for seven years of fighting reality...
koooaei- Emperor: I envy your nipplehorns. <Magnus goes red. Permanently>
Neronoxx- If our Dreadnought doesn't have sick scuplted abs, we riot.
Frazzled- I don't generally call anyone by a term other than "sir" "maam" "youn g lady" "young man" or " HEY bag!"
Ruin- It's official, we've ran out of things to talk about on Dakka. Close the site. We're done.
mrhappyface- "They're more what you'd call guidlines than actual rules" - Captain Roboute Barbosa
Steve steveson- To be clear, I'd sell you all out for a bottle of scotch and a mid priced hooker.

Sgt. Vanden - OOC Hey, that was your doing. I didn't choose to fly in the "Dongerprise'.

I have no clue how Dakka's moderation work. I expect it involves throwing a lot of d100 and looking at many random tables.
FudgeDumper - It could be that you are just so uncomfortable with the idea of your chapters primarch having his way with a docile tyranid spore cyst, that you must deny they have any feelings at all. |

I have used Beastmen as stand in Daemonettes, so Skeletons can be used to represent summoned Daemons.
Plague bearers or plague zombies, or even bloodletters would work

Use them as daemons and say that your army is the army of a minor chaos god whose theme is death

I second the idea for REALLY rotted-out Plague Zombies.
I came close to using that idea myself a number of years back when I could have bought 5 boxes of Skeleton Warriors in my store's close-out bin for next to nothing.

Look at Shadow War Armageddon as a middle ground? You only need to come up with 10-15 figures...let him buy all the terrain/rules etc. If that's the only way to get in a game with you buddy.

Plague zombies. Use them for a renegades and heretics (or is if lost and damned?) list. It's a forgeworld army, and it's fairly competitive to boot.
