Basic infantry seems to cost 2 renown. So it's pretty clear we won't have options to buy very specific gear for each guy (like we can in most skirmishes, like Mordheim or the recent SWA).

My point was that if a guy with standard equipment costs 2 units, there's no way you can add the option for him to buy a helmet for a small bonus, as this helmet would have to cost 1/4th of a point or something.
There probably are some options, but I bet they're the same as on the normal warscrolls. The book is probably pretty small, and contains rules + a few general artifacts for the heroes, but no individual stats or equipment list for the armies.

A few tidbits:
* 45 min per game
* Armies comprise 5-20 models and must have a hero
* You don't pay for different unit loadouts
* Has Shadespire campaign rules (includes 6 battleplans in rules)
* Units do not gain experience; progression is via rewards and more renown points
* Can earn treasure (upgrades) after games; winning gives more
* Looks like turn-based like AoS with rolls, potential double-turns
* Not all warscrolls are available for it; no behemoths, mainly plastics
* Battleshock is in, done at end of turn, and applies to entire army.

I get that some people liked the Call of Duty style gun upgrades in Shadow War Armageddon, but I found them really tiresome. I certainly don't want a game where there are costs and benefits for a helmet.

The other thing I really want is this Skirmish being a natural gateway to the larger game of Age of Sigmar. So I don't really want to see a lot of models hacked up and given weapons and armour and other things to the point they no longer fit any warscroll. I'm okay with some modification and rules for additional stuff like that, but I certainly don't want it to be the norm.

Loving the stream, definitely interested now. Finally started my Azyr crusade force aswell so looks like I will have to get planning.

I would love like a hunter list, like a hunter/marksmen/druid like leader with a few beasts such as wolves used as gryph hounds or something.

Edit: Yep sorted, gonna use mine as a scouting party for the Crusade, couple of Vanguard, maybe some Wanderers.

Getting LoTR vibes and its giving me a load of nostalgia.

Battleshock applies to your whole force as if it is a unit.

6 battle plans in the book

Only certain models in each alliance (plastic) have their "renown" points listed. Looks like if you want to use other stuff you'll just need to compare things on scrollbuilder and come up with a renown value that works for you and your opponent.

No experience system, but there is a battle reward system -- so Hinterlands will become a great extension for this as it add's experience.

Rob did mention that they could add things easily due to the simplicity of the system - I wonder if he knows more than he lets on.

Urrrrrrrgh so many themes to go with. My top picks:

Best thing about this, you could make all these with minimal cost. What a release!

Bottle lost first game, narrowly - but managed to roll 12 renown! Ben won and only got 11 hahaha.

Biggest "monster" is an orruk megaboss.

After hearing about this, and having all these fancy new Kharadron sculpts, it sounds like my tabletop version of Skies of Arcadia will come to fruition.

Start with a single boat with a simple crew, and let them branch out into new rolls and recruit new crew members as they shoot the crap out of the locals.

End up with full- on Age of Sigmar Overlords army of multiple Ironclads and Frigates bombing the crap out of Nagash's hometown.

Looks like a point of Renown is about 5 points. Hopefully it means clanrats/goblins are only 1 renown.

I'm technically quoting you, but I'm assuming a bit more:

- All kits are plastic, giving how there is still a resin Aspiring Deathbringer.
- All kits come with their smaller sprue, including easy to build kits (except for the Ghouls, which seems to be including the whole base kit, yet the Ardboys come in sprues of 5, which fits with your source).

I'm assuming easy to build prices, given how your reference about Stormcasts roundly sounds like.

I haven't seen the AoS kit sprues, but I really doubt GW will make a new Blood Warriors sprue with 5 of them, given how the easy to build kit only has three, while the Bloodreavers kit has 5, so it has to be one of the two.

Still, it is a good deal (GW-wise). Pay for the Wrathmongers/Skullreapers and an Easy to build kit an get the Aspiring Deathbringer for free.

This may be the tipping point for me to get into AoS.

I'm just thinking of a Night Goblin Squig Force...

...or a Aelf Sea Patrol...

...Or I also really like unmercifulconker's idea of huntsmen with gryph hounds...

...a Freeguild Knights of the White Wolf force would be a lot of fun too...

All these ideas are awesome. I've always wanted to get some pirate aelfs, so I might go that direction.

Multiplayer games should be a lot of fun. Make back handed alliances before a match and betray them at the right moment.

Eeeeh, I was hoping for AoS SW:A, yet this seems more like AoS Kill Team, with loose restrictions. The fact that not all models will be officially available doesn't help either (like, no support for FW models).

I have my Tzeentch daemons so I need to figure out a good opponent for them. Order would probably make the most sense. I just need to figure out what subset of stuff to combine. A friend of mine used to play Lizardmen back in the day so he might have stuff in storage I can convince him to bring out or sell me failing that. "Battle Pilgrims" sound like it would work though.

Did not manage to catch the stream so missed all the info. Are the renown cost for the different factions included in the rulebook or will they be available as a PDF when the rules are released?

They confirmed the KO ships aren't in it but the Duardin do have their Gyrocopters.

I think they're all in the Skirmish book which they say should be around £6.

Finally a way to take Varanguard in a points game! Seriously, ever try to build a list with those things? Probably try to port over my Arcanite list from Hinterlands.

I thought I heard them mentioned stormfiends being 20 pts each. I would assume those varanguard would be similar. So in a 50pt game you'd get 2 possibly. Could balance out.
