With the coming of 8th Edition, i have noticed the Imperial Armour Books are on the Last Chance to Buy list. I would like to get them for the Fluff, but i was wondering if i should just wait until 8th as they may re-release the Books but with 8th edition Rules instead. Does anyone know what i should do?

Hard call that. I'd say they are just as likely to simply make FAQs for them all.

The fluff is pretty good, but probably not worth the price alone.
Chances are they will be cheaper second hand.

FW have spent the last five years SLOWLY releasing second editions of books at a rate of 1-2 a year in lieu of releasing new books, for years prior to that they didn't bother and just put up pdf updates. I imagine they *might* release print versions of volumes 1, 2 & 13 in the next year or so but I wouldn't bet money on seeing any other books reprinted for a couple of years, and I wouldn't be surprised if they abandon it altogether in favour of new books.

Given how AoS handled the update you'll probably see a bunch of "units updated to 8e" .pdf files on FW's website the way we've got the Badab character updates and the AoS .pdfs of all the WHFB units now.

Imperial Armour volumes 1 to 4 were released during 3rd edition. There were no revisions (not even update PDFs) until they were reprinted at some point during 6th edition.
Going by previous experience the books may get reprinted when a) Forge World have the time and b) when the existing stock runs out and a new print run is required.
I expect, like AnomanderRake to see PDFs of 8th edition stats for all the models available at that time. So no stats for the Badab War characters with no models, no stats for Hunter Tank Destroyers, Aquila Landers or other OOP models.

You may be right about 3 & 4 but 1 & 2 definitely did have pdfs, I've still got the one for IA2 which contains complete stats for every vehicle. IIRC the IA1 update also contained the entire armoured battlegroup army list, that being the start of the glorious tradition they continued with the Vraks and Kastorel-Novem update pdfs.

Minor point of contention... Imperial Armour Volumes 1 to 4 didn't just see "revisions". They became fully new books, for all intents and purposes. The Imperial Armour v1.2 I have is quite a bit different to the Imperial Armour v1 I got at a Games Day back in the days of old...

Please don't say that last bit, I just need rules for my Plague Hulk of Nurgle :(
I emailed Forge World asking if he would be getting rules. Haven't heard anything yet :(

I agree, the fluff and the overall quality of the books is good. I wouldn't bother with it unless you're really interested in one of the conflicts in the books, but if you are they're excellent.
My eldar, for example, only use a handful of rules from my Imperial Armor book but the I've gotten a lot of value out of the painting guides and general ideas for structuring craft worlds.

Does anyone wknow how the revised Vraks book compares to the original volumes 5, 6 and 7, when it comes to the background material? I'm not bothered by the rules, but if all the background's there, it'll free up some shelf space.

Its more condensed, being the fluff of 3 books into one, but its good stuff regardless. You cna pretty much use that book to get an overall view of the campaign, and use the three others to get more depth, so it all works out.
