Hey everyone! Lady Solaria from Dawn of War is pretty freaking awesome, and we love Dawn of War here at White Metal Games, check out the pics and video and make comments!
I love the different emblems and designs, she is pretty fierce!
It looks okay. The gold ruins it for me. It looks exceptionally caked on/thick. A lot of overspray as well. I think it's a neat idea (don't love the dragon and scales but I assume those are part of the knight from the game?)
Is it stuck in the slightly odd running/strafing pose?
As said above, I very much dislike the gold, it looks pretty terrible. Along with the metal on the shoulder pad.
The dragon scales look thrown on and painted with a thick, flat red.
Any regular painter would probably receive my praise, but not a painting studio. I would be appalled if this was done for me by a commission studio, especially if it was what seems like your highest level of painting.

I agree with this, a wash over the gold followed by silver highlights would completely change that flat look. I also quite like the dragon's head on the shoulder pad which also benefit from the same.
Out of interest are you a painting studio or a gaming company?
I've been playing a while, my first model was a lead marine and my first White Dwarf was bound with staples
Eh, I know commission studios get treated a bit harshly on here, but theres just a lot of issues with this piece. The left arm's autocannon is bent, the tyranid bits dont look like scales right now, they seem really out of place. Everything on the miniature seems like its just a thick basecoat, and not necessarily a neat one. (the pauldrons have a lot of issues)
Its not something Id be putting out there to draw in clients, its unfinished.
Based on their website, I'd say the Electrum level fits the bill. I think the comments in this thread would be more justifiable if it were listed at their higher tiers of service, but hey, to each their own. To be quite honest, The pictures do not seem to agree with the metallic paint, although, I think it looks pretty solid in the video. On one hand, I do think a wash would look good on the model, but the unit in the game really does display a "pristine" kind of look. Either way, for a table top ready tier, I think it looks good.
Yeah this isn't the best work we do, haha check out some of our other threads. This was an electrum level project, which is below pro-painted for us. It's really all about what the client wants when it's commission based, and the client was happy!
The metals didn't come out in the pictures very well, but I thought this was a cool piece overall, sorry you didn't like the golds :( Thanks for the constructive criticism.
Here is Cypher that we just finished!

Thats the issue I guess, this is miles away from anything considered pro-painted, its base coats and thats it, with bad conversions and assembly on the side. Always do what the client wants, but when its like this it needs a disclaimer.
