Hello! I was wondering if someone had a way to magnetize a large tail on a model while ensuring that it will stand up straight when needed. I've been thinking of buying a magnetized sphere and then trying to get something to attach to it, but I can't find anythign that would fit that description. I'm also worried about buying some magnets without actually testing if they'll be strong enough to hold the tail up. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

with how the armour plates on its back sit.. is it actually feasible to magnetise the tail?

I'm looking at the assembly instructions and it doesn't look like a ball-and-socket joint, it looks like it's sort of an extension of the body. Which is a very good thing, because ball-and-socket joints are the worst possible case for magnetizing wargaming miniatures (they're weakest when you're shearing them across each other, which is all the time if you're doing anything with a ball-and-socket joint).

(ADDENDUM: ) If you're asking about the tail gun that isn't a ball-and-socket either, and it's got an extra resin cable across the back for extra magnet surface if you want to try and magnetize that bit of it.

The hull is two solid chunks of resin; the armour plates won't be an issue.

Sorry! I forgot to mention that it's a kitbash version from before the current model existed

For what reason do you want to magnatize the tail?

I want to be able to rotate it 360 degrees, and it broke off. It was a bad break and I'm probably going to have to sand it down quite a bit so it will stand up straight

Not clear enough picture to be able to advise on a home made conversion
