So Since FW is expensive as hell, I decided to design and 3D print a load of renegade artillery and paint them for a tournament I went to.

Here are some pics, let me know if you're interested (I have so many!)

see my website for more details! (I also 3D design and print trophies and other things for tournaments and clubs etc)

I will probably get these as soon as renegade guard rules are released for 8th edition and I paint most of my stuff.

Smooth prints, you can barely see the layers!

I do get your point though about the price of models, I 3d printed a Rhino and a hammerhead tank last year, came out quite well and painted decently enough. But you can definitely tell it is 3D printed due to, as PossumCraft pointed out, a lack of detail.

If you had a resin 3d printer, that's a different story!

Yes, but I did have to design the file myself and it did not feel worth adding an insane amount of detail to be honest plus, going from £900 worth of atrillary to more like £100 for the massive amount of artillery I made seems worth the loss of detail.....

That, in my mind, makes it quite impressive considering I know how time consuming it is to design 3D prints!

Really impressive.

If you're up for it, a easy way to make something "40k" is to add some rivets to it.

Hell, I'm not that bothered by the Stormraven. Why? Because, as it stands right now, it's "limited use".When it's shoehorned in to the Codex: Space Marines, then yeah. I'll be irked.

When I'm editing alot, you know I have a gakload of homework to (not) do.

Looking good. If you have a bunch of bits around, you should add a bunch of 'decorations' everywhere.
Body parts hanging from the barrel, chaos runes, etc. Would make it pop.

If youre looking to jump up to resin, I highly recommend the Solus 3D and for stuff needing a bigger build platform a Form 2.
