Forgive me if this information is available in a thread already but I did not find it. So, one of my armies currently is a 1ksons sorc + Magnus + horror battery. I doubt this will survive intact into 8th. What wories me is the new psychic phase. I understand that almost all of the flavor is gone , conceding to balance over flavor. But also the very mechanic that made my army work, is now gone. So I ask this of other 1ksons players. How are we going to transfer into 8th? I doubt we will be top tier but will we be broken by the new ruleset? How is Magnus in 8th? Does he still need a horror battery? Thanks in advance.

Also unfortunately no your army will not do well in its current form. Maguns' aura only affects TS units, which the horrors cannot be. However, depending on how you equip your Sorcs.

Here are some things you may want to add.

All Sorcs on Discs: Doing this will give every unit in your army the Tzeentch and Daemon special rules.

The Changling: Gives all friendly Tzeentch Daemon units -1 to attack rolls on them.

Magnus' Aura does affect the Sorcs, which can make them potent in CC.

Heralds of Tzeentch: Give +1 str to everything in your army, including Magnus.

I would say bring the Changling, and the Heralds no matter what. Any Sorcs you bring should be kitted out for CC, especially Exalted Sorcs who will hit on 2s with a reroll and have STR 7 when near the Heralds.
