Which is the better one to spam in a take all comers list?
I have 3 squads of 5 havocs and 4 autocannons each.
I have half a mind to start converting these autocannons into missile launchers using greenstuff.

Autocannons are generally worse than missile lanchers, with the exception of 1 wound MEQ, but the cheaper price tag on autocannons makes them more cost efficient against things that aren't 3+ save multiwound infantry or vehicles.

I was thinking of spamming frag option. D6 s3 ap -0 1wound.
High rate of fire is just better in my opinion because single wounds spill over in a unit compared to d3 wounding. Even s3 still wounds a t6 and tougher on a 6s.

Even shooting frag against puny guardsmen, autocannon is more points efficient than a missile launcher, because the extra 5 points only nets you a small increase in wounds done, even accounting for damage not spilling over. Automatically Appended Next Post: Missile launchers are more multipurpose though, as they can hurt big things autocannons struggle against.

Missiles are somewhat a multi tool and able to handle a variety of jobs vs specialist weaponry such Las cannons and such.
Thee do not excel at one thing yet can be used vs inf, armour and depending on army fliers' too.

They don't exist anymore since shooting fliers is just a -1 to hit.
In general I like missile launchers for their versatility and the ability to use them for anti-infantry if i need to compared to Las, Autocannons, and Heavy Bolters. To me this versatility is the main strength of Havocs/Devastators/Long Fangs compared to Predators, Centurions, Dakka Dreads, etc.
