With the optimal load out for Horrors in Matched play being 1-2 Blues and the rest Brims, and both being T3 on the same base, what are Dakka's thoughts on just painting the surplus of Blue models as if they were Brims?
Basically, a box comes with 10 Blues and 10 Brim pairs. You could paint only 1-2 Blues actually blue, and the other 8-9 the same scheme as the Brims (orange-yellow fire)
You could easily say these models are what Blues looks like at the moment they Split, or 2 brims "reforming". Bonus points for using the "smaller" blue sculpts that are hunched over.
Could this be a good way to maximize the utility of the boxset?

I wouldn't have a problem with it as long as they are easily distinguishable.

There are way wilder conversions, if you can call it that, present in the largest tournaments in the world.
If someone disapproves they must be larger than life.

Just cut the brimstones in half and do one brimstone per base.

Blood Angels, Custodes, Tzeentch, Alpha Legion, Astra Militarum, Deathwatch, Thousand Sons, Imperial Knights, Tau, Genestealer Cult.
I have a problem.
Being contrary for the sake of being contrary doesn't make you unique, it makes you annoying.

I've done that for some of mine, but honestly some of the sculpts don't support it. Some of the Brims arms are too overlapping into each others, or some Brims rely on their twin to hold them up
Considering that I have 10 Blues and realistically only need 1 per unit, repainting a few seems a better idea than buying more boxes just for the Brims
Or rather, buying another box becomes appealing if I paint ALL the models within as Brims

There's also a polish site that sells off brand ones for about $14/10. Could try that.
If I double up to 100+ Brimstones for my army, I'm using them.
