Quick 4v4, basic ganger/lasgun stat intro game for my girls. Necromunda Mk1 as those are the rules I'm most familiar with. Will be switching to latest rules for the next game.

Isengard vs lothlorien. 400 pts. Took with me demolition team despite suspecting strongly VERY bad choice in this small game and it was. Not helped by infernal shooting(3 turns, 9 dead uruks. With 22 starting models that's a lot...).

Highlight was bomb going off though turn too late for my taste due to him managing to tag my berserker. To ensure I can get it off I had to do very aggressive tagging which subjected tons of my own models into the explosion so casualty wise it was pretty much equal. Which was bad trade seeing numbers left.

Grand Titanicus slam, Wreck of Arutan!

Large Astorum force attacks a thin line of Favilla's defenders, trying to block them from advancing on a fallen carrier ship to destroy it before any survivors can clamber out. Dogged resistance holds and the delaying action is succeful, as eventually even larger reserves kick the sides open and storm the field in an angry counter charge that sees the Astorum driven off the field with casualties 6-3 in favour of the Ashen Gods.

This was 2 weeks ago now, first game post lockdown.

Did a fantastic game last week pitting my salamanders VS a chaos khorne list teaching 5th edition to a new player who has only played 8th. we had so much fun...i totally forgot to take pictures



Just in case your wondering he kicked the crap out of me...we have a rematch tomorrow, i think i will try my ravenwing/deathwing against him.

Unfortunately it's WH40K, as it is the only wargame some of my friends want to play. So if I want to play those friends I have to suffer through this tedious dice fest experience

Sob vs tsons. 1st game of tournament. I was rolling under average, he passed inv saves over average. Triumph made heroic charge taking knight down to 3 wounds. Needing 5+ to hit the 33 attccks rolled way above average killing with wounds to spare when i should get comfortably alive even without the 2 automatic passes i had...and ahriman passed 4 inv saves with even single failing(no rr) meaning death.

That looks like a whole lot of eldar on eldar action...........thatss how we got the eye of terror.

Well i did it again. we were missing some players so we did a 5th edition 3 way battle at 2k each dark angles (deathwing/ravenwing) VS necrons VS chaos(khorne).. i set up the table and took a picture...and then got so into the game i forgot to take anymore.

1000 points games ; sista against 1ksons

I nearly wipe his board but game has stoped end of turn 5 on a roll of 2, preventing me to win the last objectives points I needed to win. Good time tough!

At first i thought those were blood letters in a tzeench army and i was like what??? then i saw the bird beaks.

A game of kings of war, Nightstalkers against the kingdoms of men. The objectives? Chickens of all sizes!

Flesh eater court vs bonereaers that are fast becoming one of the most frustrating armies I have faced. Sooooo many buffs resulting in their basic troops soaking up best killers FEC have and then just delete it in return. Hideously good shooting and powerful magic.

And after rolling bad all game(flayer charge rolling less than half the casualties averages give) my flayer hero tries to at least score some vp's and kill couple basic infantry guy. Easy thing. Except can't roll single hit...

That roll kind of summed how game went

Minas Tirith vs Mordor. Command battlefield. Initial knight charge led by Boromir was devastating but then got bogged down unable to get charges failing 3/4 of roll off's for heroic move. I was killing quite a lot and surrounded infantry was dying in slower pace than expected but scenario was pressing issue. You needed to control quarters and I had my army bogged down in 1 and he had presence in all 4...

Getting only roll off I had for me tried to break deadlock with Boromir but duel rolls were off so result was less than hoped. However managed to get 3 cavalry models break off to deal with 4 orcs there. Ingold managed to take down captain that was leader netting me 2 vp's. Once we broke(simultaneously) it became downhill there. Despite army bonus giving +1 courage orcs fled in droves and combined with the 3 knights and 2 foot troops just managing to break into south-west quarter gave me somewhat unexpected 7-3 win.

Got my first game of Blackstone Fortress in with a friend. Was quite fun, we did only the one combat, it lasted a few rounds. And the Kroot shot everything to pieces in nearly every round, killing more than half of the enemies without breaking a sweat

Been looking into that game. How difficult/long would you say it is to learn the rules?

1250 pts game against dark eldars (and harlequins) today. I lost 7-14 but managed to wipe nearly his whole army. 2++ on his warlod is pain in the ass, 12 attacks of Celestine did nothing on him because of that. It has to bee saturated by shot to make him fail an inv save so he can't use it anymore for the next saves.

Pretty easy, although I had to look into the FAQ PDF because the Precipice healing rule is very vague in the rules book. First combat took some time, but we played again Sunday and it went a lot faster.

5th ed game salamanders successors VS tyranids

With a friend who has moved out of town, we tried out War Table. For learning purposes we decided on a small, 25pts game of Warmachine.

I was skeptical, remembering how awkward and clunky things like Tabletopia are but I have to say War Table is amazing. So many excellent funcionalities obviously coming from a designer who knows really well what Warmachine players need in their game. It allowed for a nice flowing and very precise game. At every step I was surprised how many small things were implemented to make operations more intuitive and convenient.

I especially liked how you can apply status/spell effects to models, how every model on board has its distance to a selected model shown, how you draw the "movement corridor" counting inches of movement spent, how you can apply damage to a model and it is shown on it's in-game representation real-time, including damaged warjack systems.

Hats off for an incredibly well designed app. An it runs in your browser without the need to install anything!

As for the battle itself - Kreoss 2, despite being outmanoeuvered scenario-wise, had a very effective feat turn, crippling the Minion force. Helga herself was far too weak to assassinate the Menite warcaster and didn't manage to save the day with her desperate attempt.

Funny SM colour scheme - looks like unpainted plastic with transfers and some edge highlighting

Oh they are fully painted and detailed. the naval grey i used is darker than the plastic sprue grey.

my favorite color combination is black and grey. the original concept is here



Also the secondary joke is they are salamanders with the paint scheme being inspired by early wehrmacht armored vehicles.

3-way Ghost Archipelago game

Someone forgot their warband, so they had to use unpainted Warhammer Quest greenskins from my mook box.

Rangers of the north vs moria though 2 cave trolls ensured it was only about 1 man vs 3 evil guy. Arrows took their toll though depleted some mlght. Was hard scenario(destroy supplies) as keeping objective safe with so few models was near impossible. Only succeeded as opponent forgot scenario and went for kills 2 tturns. In combat use of heroic combats let me split outnumbered fights enough that the 2 attack with f4 and s4 carried day. 4-0 win though 3-1 was close as i was 1 away from broken. And had he remembered scenario on those turns 2 vp　quaranteed and another 2 nearly quaranteed(i need to roll 3+ followed by 6)

One troll ran away when he broke, other　got 4 of remaining 7 comboing and as he failed to roll 6 with 3 dice got killed by Arathorn, Halbarad and　2 rangers.
