Sadly the more clear one is error ridden

Ok. Lol. This is clearly from the quick play kit and was not proofread. Errors...
1) Heavy bolt pistols have -1AP combat blades don't
2) This unit has no transport and can't infiltrate or late deploy
3) Ultramarines only? So now Guilliman made his own Nightlords?!

Though... shut off overwatch and -1 to rolls is awesome. Tau/Guard hunters (devil)

Pretty sure combat blades aren't supposed to have a modifier, and that the ultramarine keyword is just a simplication for the purposes of quick play. They are not errors. Ditto for the lack of a transport option or infilrate.

Heavy Bolt pistols are meant to have the modifier, as they are heavy bolt pistols. If they didn't have the modifier, they'd just be bolt pistols.
The combat blades with the -1 modifier is an error.

Transport options are not on the units cards

its on the transports them selves iirc.

Regardless of errors its very inconsistent one way or another.

I know transport options aren't on the datacards (seriously), my point is that everything has pointed to this being an ambush unit and as of right now it's datacard gives it no way to "not deep strike" nor can it forward deploy nor do we know of a scout like transport option for it (hoping it's not just supposed to ride in the Primaris Bradley Fighting Hover Vehicle).

I'm assuming, maybe errantly, that it'll get some sort of datasheet ability that will let it do the 9" approach deploy. Maybe not.

Honestly I've only been seeing them as a Force multiplier like so much else in the Primaris subsection. The only thing that hints at them being scouts is assumptions based on their armor, but the fluff is them being a terror troop, correct? Sprinkle some in with your other units and let their abilities do the punching while your actual units deal damage. We will get transports in the codex most likely and all they would need is a ten man transport for an Intercessor, Riever squad, Lieutenant and Captain and you suddenly got an annoying bunch of mutual buff units that you shouldn't take because of points costs and complicated gimmicks. But I mean, it could be a thing that almost works.

Good points all around

Given these rules are literally just for usage in the 1-2 weeks between this release and the new codex, I doubt they worried about getting everything totally correct, and probably just kept things simple.

What do you guys mean the heavy bolt pistol have -1 ap? The sheet I saw from the 3 man box has 0 AP for them. They were literally identical to a bolt pistol.

Hmm, Ultramarines only. That's going to be a fun surprise for some of the people who bought these.

There's another sheet where the heavy bolter pistols have -1 ap. Which is probably the right version, because other wise they'd just be bolt pistols.

Have you not noticed that regular Marines only come with Ultramarine decals now?
