Well, this us my first post here so... Hi all.

So i aim to stort a new Space Marine army. I have played Imperial Guard since late 90s and want something new.
Here is my problem. I cant find the right chapter for me. The things i want with my chapter seems impossible. I want a chapter that uses almost only mark iv armor mixed with both 30 and 40k weapons. The best i found so far is the Consecrators. But they dont fit for me all the. Im not a fan for that Dark Angels theme with robes and cloaked heads. Is there any chapters for me?

None are quite like that to my knowledge, but there is no reason you can't make just invent your own chapter that does. The normal space marine codex has a reasonable number of options for modeling unique wargear from 30k (terminator suits mainly).

Don't feel like you must pick a cannon chapter.

Just invent your own chapter like people did in 4th. Then pick a chapter trait. Problem solved.

Thanks for answers ☺
I have read about the Red Scorpions. But I understand that they use modern 40k era weapons and mark iv armor on veterans.
I have had thoughts about creating an own chapter. The tricky thing is to get it lore friendly.
I also have the more unknown chapters in mind. Like Nemesis and Imperial Paladins for example. Or is there any taboos when it comes to chapters with almost non history?

If you are going full ham on it and making lore then just dont make them super mary sue, part of events that are pretty clear cut.

otherwise paint them up nice and make them look cool.

If anything you could make them a successor to a chapter that used mk 4 a lot.

It seems to be a thing of the red scorps or iron hands so make an iron hand successor chapter that went of to crusade in some back water region of space.

It really isn't tricky at all. 40k's lore is intentionally cataclysmic in scope, specifically so that any chapter you can imagine and any special traits and kinks they have is possible. Just make up your own stuff and have them be from a little known moon in the god-knows-where system. There is nothing wrong with making your chapter exactly what you like. If you want to stick to some kind of lore, then read some books and make something up off of that. If not, you can play Angry Marines if you want, or anything in between.

Its fine and often hilarious fun when done right.

and then there are the mary sue marines. the favorite successor the the ultra marines. single handedly against all odds wiped out a hive fleet of screen without losing a single guy. also name dropped by the big E.

Ether take it serious and make it something that could be in the universe

or take it WAY out into left field and make something fun.

anything in between will cause some major eye rolling.

They use Mk IV for anyone and everyone, they have a forge that is capable of producing it on a large scale. The style of the weapons means little, in the Badab War books they were frequently shown using the older design of weapons.

if you want a chapter that can use a lot of older marks, the red scorptions certainly work, that said any first founding chapter works as well, (or second founding for that matter) no one's going to think twice if he sees an Ultramarines army consisting of mk 4 armor, and cataphracti terminators.

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

Actually, friend of mine is playing loyalist Alpha Legion. No one bats an eye.

(I mean yeah, there is sort of fluff support for it, but at the current time in the storyline of 40k, they're still supposedly tied to Chaos.)

I play Ultramarines and I have veterans wearing MK III and IV armors. I like how they look, my fluff is that they are some old suits that Cawl upgraded while he was experimenting on new wargear.

ETA: If you create a chapter, follow the advice above and make someone who could canonically fit; or make it extreme and funny.

A fresh squeezed example of funny would be the Capri's Sons.

If I create an own chapter it sure will be serius. But im not giving up on a existing official chapter quite yet. I am really in to chose one that is rather unknown with the chapters colors and badge known. There it could be compicated with the story. No one knows if GW has plans for them, or if they just fina leva them as it is.
I also found one more that almost fits. Charnel Guard. Only problem is that im really bad on painting pics by hand.
