So I've been assembling the new Primaris Repulsor tank for my 40k army, and let me tell you it has been a struggle and I've only barely gotten the hull together so far. I don't know whether I'm just a clumsy oaf or whether the kit is poorly designed or what. It's like putting a Land Speeder together all over again on a larger scale. Maybe the kit is just not very forgiving of any misaligned parts. All I know is that I'm going to have to break out the Procreate Putty to fill some ugly gaps where I just could not make the parts fit together properly. Seems kind of sad when I haven't had this kind of trouble with any of the newer GW model kits until now.

Is anyone else having trouble assembling this model?

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

Email gw and complain. Say the model was malformed or something. Ask for an rma to return it

You mean this area right here?

I've heard from a couple accounts that it's prone to gaps here. I figure it's a compounding issue of the eight pieces that make up the circumference having teeny misalignments that add up to noticeable gaps when you put those last sides on. I personally found them not terribly hard to fill and clean up though.

Yes, that's it exactly. Both sides; large gaps. I guess it's a known issue. I can most likely use my aforementioned ProCreate putty ("green stuff") to fix it, but what a pain in the ass... I thought there wouldn't be any more repeats of ill-fitting kits like the Land Speeder from GW, but life proves me wrong. Oh well, enough bitching and bellyaching, time to fix it!
