Battle-tested Knight Castellan Pilot

Hallo friends
Complete imperium noob and I was wondering if it is possible to make a knight crusader from other kits since its not available to be purchased from GW anymore?
Also, what is the verdict on the FW Cerastus knights? I think they look amazing compared to the dumpy GW ones, better proportioned. If I cant make a crusader I was going to get a Castigator as it seems to be the best balanced one, with good dakka and choppy.
Thoughts?

If you're talking about the Imperial Knights, GW technically only ever released two kits; the earlier, cheaper Paladin/Errant kit and the more expensive Warden/Crusader/Gallant Kit.
The Warden/Crusader/Gallant kit can actually make any of the 5 knights, and is the better purchase. It literally comes with everything in the Paladin/Errant kit but with the extra sprue for the Avenger Gating Cannon, the Thunderstrike Gauntlet and the carapace weapons.
The reason the Paladin/Errant kit still exists is because the other one can make two carapace weapons and people generally use a variety of knights, so the cheaper kit can borrow parts from the Warden/Crusader/Gallant kit if it needs carapace weapons or a weapon change (say you make the Crusader, you can then use the remaining parts and a paladin kit to make a Gallant).

Wth are you talking about? It's on their website right now. I just went and checked.
I mean you just make it out of the knight warden kit. 2 guns instead of a melee weapon.

Probably a reboxing then. Ever since 8th dropped they've been quietly taking items out to rebox them. I remember the Wave Serpent was taken off and came back the next week with nary a change.

Ahh okay, I was confused as to why we were getting shafted for a second.
What are the opinions on the Cerastus knights though? Better/worse than their GW counterparts? They seem a lot more specific in their loadouts.

The Cerastus knights are a lot better IMO.
Faster, more wounds, able to regenerate wounds, and some pretty nasty weaponry.
I mean look at the Acheron. Its flame cannon is 18" 2d6 shots (auto-hitting of course) S7 AP-2 and does 3 damage per shot. That thing has a pretty reasonable chance of dropping a full health trygon on overwatch.
It's only a little more expensive than most normal knights, and less expensive than some.
