The Renegade Chapters ( Red Corsairs) Chaos Legion Trait says they can advance and charge. Could they also shoot assault weapons after advancing, and then charge too? That would make for some awesome biker action., especially with Khorne and Icons of Wrath.

RaI: Yes.

RaW: It's a mess and we don't talk about it.

RAW is still yes; with the normal assault weapon -1 to hit for advance and shoot.

What are you on about BCB?

Rules involved, simplified:
Advance: no shoot or charge.
Assault weapon: ok, you can shoot with these after you advance but take a negative to hit; does nothing to the charge restriction(not even mentioned in the rule)
Renegade chapter trait: You may charge after advancing(no mention of shooting at all).

Take all those together and you have a general denial of 2 things with an individual exeption to each of those denials.

This is my Rulebook. There are many Like it, but this one is mine. Without me, my rulebook is useless. Without my rulebook, I am useless.
Stop looking for buzz words and start reading the whole sentences.

The problem is the order of operations. In order to fire the Assault weapons, you must first nominate the unit, which since they Advanced you cannot do.
It's the same issue with Pistols in melee. You must first nominate a unit to shoot you cannot legally nominate.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

GUYS. Every other thread doesn't need this being posted. It's boring. WE GET IT you guys think you've done a clever.

For me, the joy is in putting some good-looking models on the board and playing out a fantasy battle - not arguing over the poorly-made rules of some 3rd party who neither has any power over my play nor will be visiting me (and my opponent) to ensure we are "playing by the rules"

Someone asked for clarification. So I clarified.

And now back to your regularly scheduled thread.
