Yes, because no one ever named a new discovery after something else, like themselves, their country or perhaps their planet... of all the things about GW naming conventions to complain about, this is probably the worst.

Do you guys think, that stalkers and dragoons will be any good in this edition? With the help of those detachments at least

Ruststalkers - not likely unless they get a big drop in price and/or some of their special rules back.

Dragoons are good though. Go read the AdMech Tactica discussing their merits. There are many, many pages discussing it.

There's only one day before pre-orders for the codex start and we haven't heard anything about Questor Mechanicus. I wonder if that will make any kind of appearance tomorrow?

i'm guessing the only thing we get on the knights will be through leaks when the preorders start arriving on store shelves or rather the back rooms

If Ruststalkers or Dragoons get some sort of bonus to charges, then Lucius would be the way to go for them. As it stands, they are pretty well garbage at this point, Ruststalkers at least.

So, almost all the faction wide passive bonuses so far have been terrible. The Metallica stratagem is awesome though.

Today will we see the appearance of an Actually Good passive? Do Salamanders deserve 1 free reroll wound and hit but Mechanicus just aren't that good?

Well, part of the problem is we are discussing CT in an army where the better builds currently avoid every unit which benefits from CT. Even the salamander CT is frankly fairly mediocre for us as is, our units depend on weight of fire, rerolling a single wound roll per turn is nice when you have tactical squads with a lascannons or missle launcher, less useful for two assault 2 plasma guns at minimum unit size. I suppose it works best for rangers with the sniper rifle, but all our other infantry depends on tons of shots, so a single reroll doesn't help many of them.

So we kinda need to see how they actually adjusted our points and if we have a cheap HQ before we can tell how good a lot of this is, as currently it's hard to build a decent admech army with much CP to burn on stratagems of any useful infantry units to speak of.

You're saying that like you know it's true, but we clearly don't know the facts on this yet.

Let's read the Black Templars chapter tactic...
"You can reroll failed charges for BLACK TEMPLARS units with this tactic"

So that's everything Black Templars, right?

Wrong, because in the description of what Chapter Tactics does, it specifies that it only applies to INFANTRY, BIKERS and DREADNOUGHTS.

So let's wait before we get all giddy about vehicles getting dogmas, eh?

One of the preview articles was explicit that dogmas apply to all AM units.

Adeptus Mechanicus armies benefit from a powerful forge world dogma – equivalent to Legion Traits or Chapter Tactics – which apply to every unit in an Adeptus Mechanicus army, not just your infantry! Mars’ forge world dogma is Glory to the Omnissiah, a trait that’ll make your army very powerful, if unpredictable

Current thoughts are that knights wont get the <forge world> keyword or canticles abilities, but will get the admech keyword for repairing and auras etc.

He could. He wasnt 100% right about the fnp dogma, so far most of the leaks have been a more simplified version of the final product.

RAW: detachment is irrelevant for dogmas and strategms. if both models had the same forge world keyword thats all that would matter for the strategems and dogmas we've seen so far.

Him being partially right leads me to believe the guys doing the leaking did not have long to read the codex. For all we know we have new units that will get releases later. They could easily combine the rust stalkers and balistari to a single profile same with the knights.

Of course while entirely plausible it's unlikely

Also a possibility is. Ew wargear options on units that will see updated kits at some point in the future. Again plausible but unlikely

Edit: possible not plausible.... stupid phone

If it's like previous releases we will start seeing reviews posted early Saturday morning/very late Friday night.

I'm really suprised they haven't made more of a deal about what would be a "brand new" option in the Questor Mechanicus when it seems that Ad Mech aren't getting much else which is new.

I really hope they do it. It is completely idiotic to have five entries to a thing that in reality is a single unit with some weapon options. And ability to take the same gun twice would be welcome.

If they do a twin Avenger Knight... I wonder what they will call it.

My guess is "Knight Avenger", because... GW.
