Hey all, I'm in the process of getting the bits together for a conversion project, and one thing I am short on (and can't find an option for) are mechanical tendrils/tentacles.

Certain AdMech models have them built into their model, but not in a way that can be seperated (as it's part of the main body decoration), and I am trying to make a chaos dark mechanicus army. Maulerfiend Lasher Tendrils seem like a good option, but after looking through every bits site and ebay and finding none at all available, I thought I would ask here if there are any other options?

Alternatively, if anyone has some spares, I would be happy to pay for the bitz. If I don't get much luck on alternatives I'll put up a post on the swap shop thread too.

Thanks!

Thought about one of these?

Wow, I didnt even know that was a thing!

Will greenstuff be strong enough for tendrils that stick out from the model? I know it'll be fine for ones that are decoration.

The greenstuff I have is a year or so old, does that stuff ever go "off"?

Yes, greenstuff can go off, but IME if you've got the stuff where the yellow and blue are part of the same strip (you can buy it in separate containers) then it's the point where they meet that causes the most issue. Typically if you cut the bit in the middle out, it generally carries on ok.

You may be able to use grey stuff or mix your green stuff with more blue to make it stiffer, alternatively I don't see any reason why you couldn't get some fine fuse wire or similar as a core, wrap the green stuff around it, texture it and then bend it into shape. Or simply be creative with the tentacle positioning so other parts of the model can be cunningly used to support it.

Those rollers are great fun. Even at about a quarter inch thick though, anything that stands free will have some flex if it's just greenstuff. I haven't tried to do any around a wire core, but in theory it should work, though it may take a couple tries to get the wire properly in the middle so that it's not showing through gaps where it's off centre.
