Trying to put together something marginally compeitive for a GT - I'm never going to be top table, but also dont really want to be smashed all day - its this or a janky Tyranid list I've been toying with...
Do you have more immortals? Rule of thumb for us atm is Immortals>Warriors.
A squad of 20 warriors with a cryptek and GA is tough to kill but the durability is very dependant on who you face.
Stalker is sorta out of place in this list, the pylon does not need help killing things, and there is no other 'quality' shots that would benefit from the buff. A tesseract ark is much more preferable, due to having D6 shots. A sentry pylon is also okay, not as survivable though.
Deathmarks are okaaaaaay, but the points could be better spend elsewhere. Scarabs/wraiths are a good fit here.
Deceiver is good, i prefer him to the nightbringer due to his redeploy.
I actually think the deceiver is the one slightly out of place on the list, plenty of shooting to take advantage of the reroll ones from the stalker. But no one to really teleport with the deceiver, point blank warriors I suppose, but their effectiveness falls off pretty sharply against t5+ or better targets. So instead of using deceiver into an alpha strike you use him for board control, but your two main HQ units probably won't be able to come along. So they'll be slogging it on foot isolated from most of your troops. Nightbringer is a better beatstick.
Aside from that seems pretty standard. My only suggestion might be to drop the ghost ark, grab another HQ, and spin your elites into a vanguard. That will get you an extra CP and keep you at or below the three detachments which is the the standard for most tournaments. Not that CP is super important to necrons given the lack of things to spend it on.
Constantly being negative doesn't make you seem erudite, it just makes you look like a curmudgeon.
Made a couple of changes as suggested, any thoughts on this? Went with night ringer over deceiver as I like the melee aspect more than the teleport. I'm facing a lot of swarm armies at the moment, so need a way to delete them, and that gaze and scythe does more for.me in that respect.
1. I would recommend to split 1 unit of 9 scarabs to 3 units of 3. So this case they will not be affected by morale and opponent will have to split fire so can not focus on one unit with all firepower.
2. I personally think that Criptek is waste of points. You would want to deploy your Immortals in cover to get 2+ armor save so they will not be deployed as single blob like warriors and 1 Cyptek can not give hid 5++ save to all of them.

He definitely could give all the Immortals 5++ invul. If he puts all the Immortals on a piece of scenery with a ground, 1st and 2nd floor and puts Orikan on the 2nd floor then all the units with have 5++ invul and 4+ RP because the 6" also goes up and down because it is an aura. I would swap Orikan for a generic Cryptek though and put those extra points into the Deathmarks.
I find warriors to be superior to immortals in most situations. Against terminators and units in cover of course immortals are better. However, against glass cannon armies like the dark eldar, where they can alpha strike a 10 man immortal squad, the 20 man warriors with renanimation protocol are better. I've also lucked out and beaten melee power houses in close combat with warriors due to the sheer fact I got reanimation protocols adding up attacks. I hope my advice helps because I'm not the best player. Thanks.

There are 2 things about Cryptek and 2x10 immortals.
1. In cover immortals will get 2+ save. AP-3 will bump it to 5+ (same as invul). AP-4 will bump it to 6+ save. Often AP-4 shooting is multiple damage and if opponent waste multiple damage high AP weapons on Immortals in cover - that's good! So for 110pts we get Cryptek who does not too much but sometimes helps with reanimations.
2. Putting 2x10 Immortals in one building can be dangerous - multicharge can kill them all. Also you often need to get objectives and putting everything in one place might not be good.
So i still personally think that Cryptek works only for 2x20 units of warriors when they slowly marching forward.

However I have som feedback.
- Have you considered how you will use the 5++ aura from the Gauss Pylon? The Tesseract Ark already have a 5++. If you deploy Immortals in cover next to it they will have a 2+ save, so the 5++ is not so usefull. Perhaps Heavy Destroyers in cover with that 5++.
- I prefer the Deceiver over the Nightbringer. You can move Immortals into objectives in cover. Redeploy scarabs to prevent deep striking. It gives you a lot more flexibility.
- I would split the Scarabs into two units.
- Consider having one or two units of Immortals with gauss instead of tesla.

Yes, tesla is good, but when you face deep striking primaris marines, terminators or units in cover gauss is better. 30% better against 3+ and 100% better against 2+ at rapid fire range.
If you also start facing units that have a -1 to hit then gauss is even better.

So it looks like gauss is better if someone 2+ armor save deepstrike within rapid fire range of gauss immortals and will not kill them.
For -1 to hit you need +1 to hit from MWBD
Tesla is better for other use cases.

Tesla is good but Gauss is better if they are within rapid fire range, or the target has a 2+ save. So with immortals it's actually an interesting tactical choice, one loadout is not flat better than the other. With that said most people prefer to not get immortals within rapid fire (and charge) range, and the ability to shoot while moving (albeit at greatly diminished ability) is a nice bonus for our waddling troops. Tesla also works better on overwatch, so maybe a slight edge to tesla.

Very seldom do you have weapons loadouts that are as balanced as they are for the Immortals currently.
Most of the time it's an easy pick.
I will try a tesla on all my Immortals and see if it does better, thanks.
Currently I'm running 2 units of 10 with gauss and 1 unit of 5 with tesla... not magnetized
How I have played them is that the 2 units of 10 advance to or are grand illusioned on objectives.
This means they usually get closer to the enemy.
The 5 man tesla squad usually sit on a backfield objective and therefore need the "range" of the tesla.

Exactly my experience. I've battled a RW army and my Necrons with Annihilation Barges and Night Scythes was maxed out on tesla. But the shots bounced off. With a 3+ save and 2 wounds you can have a hard day if the opponent has hot dice.
