Subject: Stripping Paint off Resin Models

I mistakenly undercoated a Forgeworld Tank with regular black paint, which is now wearing off at the corners. Now I need to strip it and start over.
Wondering if it's safe to strip it with SuperClean, or if I should be using something else. As I understand it, the active ingredient is Lye.
I don't want to see anything melt. Any help would be appreciated.

I have used Superclean safely on Forgeworld resin before. I wouldn't recommend leaving them in more than a couple hours though, just to be safe.

I'd recommend Isopropyl Alcohol, rubbing alcohol. Test it on a spare chunk of resin but 90% is enough to strip acrylic off of anything.

I've stripped some resin and some finecast with Super Clean and haven't had a problem (only left it in a day or two). Even used an ultrasonic. The pain with resin and crapcast is that you can't very well brush the hell out of a model like you can most metals and plastics. You'll still risk breakin' the stupid things.

Isopropyl alcohol will make resin go soft if you leave it in for too long (3 days) however, it only needs about 2 minutes to actually remove the paint. I learnt that the hard way.

I've put some really rough Assault Marines in some isopropyl overnight and it stripped off the paint. So I put my money on that for stripping anything. I doubt it'd take any longer for that on any model.

I used to use IPA too but the fumes were unpleasant (even with a mask, goggles and gloves) so have changed to Bio Strip 20. It's non toxic and you either brush it over the model, or soak in pot and the paint just sloughs off after an hour. Scrub with an old toothbrush (or equivalent) and rinse in soapy water.
