Mmm. Speculation and wishlisting!
As you've probably notice, Deathguard and Thousand Sons have recently been treated to long, long awaited separate army lists.
Whilst Nurgle got a larger range, Thousand Sons still got what I'd consider to be their true core stuff.
But what of Khorne and Slaanesh? Well, World Eaters and Emperor's Children. What toys and units do we expect to see, and what do we hope to see?
For me, I want World Eaters to get Red Butchers. They're a Heresy unit of World Eater's gone way off the deep end. Sealed and sutured into remotely shut downable Cataphractii armour, and unleashed whenever absolute havoc and slaughter is required. Those boys definitely need to be in. And of course updated Berzerkers is another must!
Slaanesh? Well, I'd like to see more than simply Noise Marines. They're cool, but there's more to them than Glam Rock, no?
But what do you want or need to see?

I tink they should re-release the Slaneesh Chaos Lord model, and maybe some form of Khorne Terminator? But all in all, i'm very very scepticle on either sub-faction getting new toys.

As a Slaanesh Player.. I want to see the rest of excess shown. Excessive sound is nice, but lets see a special unit of possessed or monstrous melee unit that attacks and devours units, seeking the excess of gluttony.
A prideful unit of sword users that seek to one up each other, seeking powerful combat on the field.
Units of utterly drugged up cultists, led by a drug master who sends them into combat, using masks filled with combat drugs and their blood toxic to those who slay them or potentially exploding.
Also returning the old combat drugs trait to EC would be pretty dope too. Let the drugs flow amongst those who seek to emulate all sensation!

Isn't that 40 cultists with Fabius Bile? ;D

I'd like to see the burning brand of scathrax come back in the world eaters codex. Also an updated zerker model would be nice. I've already got 5 squads of 8, so I doubt I'd buy more. Unless they were particularly awesome. I'm not worried about terms since forgeworld is working on the mould for their we term kit.

I think Angron is the lorewise most active chaos primarch in 40k. He invaded Armageddon once already and is about to do it again. As I recall he has chapter approved rules from 3ed, the only primarch to get stats in that pre HH books era. He also got a bodyguard of 8 bloodthirsters back then.
Would like to see more diffrent music instrument themed noise marines and more cultists variants. Maybe an temptestus equalevent khorne cultists with carpace armour and chain axes?

His pattern of returning alive after being declared dead occurred often enough during Cain's career that the Munitorum made a special ruling that Ciaphas Cain is to never be considered dead, despite evidence to the contrary. |

I'm honestly hoping they stay away from the demon engine extravaganza that DG got. At least for EC, with WE I can see it being justified in that they don't really, by lore, have any other source of ranged fire or heavy support to speak of.

I better see Skullcrushers in a world eater list or I will be saltier than the pool of blood around Khorne's throne. And the obligitory "Cult Terminator" that is all the rage right now (preferably with dual chainaxes). And finally a tank that is essentially a giant combine harvester repurposes to mulch flesh.
EC should get "Noise Havocs" where they're essentially the Kakaphoni unit from 30k imported into 40k. Sonic Dreadnoughts are a must too, as well as some sort of Sonic tank. They should also get a flavour of cultists that have high mobility, decent lethality, and the durability of wet tissue in a hurricane.

I'd love to play Slaanesh but they're pretty limited to demons in terms of models outside of forge world. If they brought out plastic official slaanesh csm models on gw I'd start a new army straight away.

I'd just like to see some slaanesh CSM heads following the design of their illustrations. Black beady eyes, speaker ears, so much facial augmentation it looks more like a skin bag than human. The slaanesh space marine illustrations rock my world
EDIT: I would also like to see some terminator rules with double handed weapons because the forgeworld terminators are some of the finest models I've seen

Blood-Drenched Death Company Marine
|
I'm willing to bet that in 2018 we get either Fulgrim, or Angron, or both. I suspect we will see a Loyalist Primarch next. Odds are solid it'll be the Lion, or Leman Russ. Possibly Sanguinius reborn/Death Company Sanguinius or some similar character (Hyper powered up Sanguinor/Mephiston), though that's less likely than the first two options arriving next. My theory on it is this, all 4 of the major chaos gods will get their corresponding primarch along with some cool models along side them, a-la Magnus & now Mortarion. We saw the Death Shroud Terminators, Typhus, and all the new Death Guard model love released with Mortarion. I expect the same to be done for Angron or Fulgrim, whichever they choose to release next after the impending Loyalist Primarch releases. I suspect re-sculpts of classic named models (as was done for Typhus) for Lucius the Eternal, and has already been doe for Kharn the Betrayer, and a lot of other cool and interesting elements from both the World Eaters & Emperor's Children coming with their respective Primarch models. A terminator unit, a weak or 'chaff unit' like Tzangors and Pox Walkers, some cool character models of a type like the Death Guard Tallyman and Thousand Sons Exalted Sorcerers. I'm looking forward to seeing a lot more awesome models for both World Eaters & Emperor's Children in 2018, that's for sure, with shiney new Codexes and rules for both traitor legions and their Primarchs. Now, speaking of Loyalists. I expect/suspect, as I said above, that the 'big four' loyalist chapters will be the first to get Primarchs released in plastic on the loyalist side. We've already got Guilliman for the posterboys; Ultramarines. The Lion (Dark Angels), Russ (Space Wolves) and Sanguinius (Blood Angels) in some form will be brought in and given miniatures/rules, as they will be fairly simple Primarch only releases. All three armies, Blood Angels, Dark Angels, and Space Wolves, have very complete miniature ranges when it comes to models. Only old named character models remain that need updating (Azrael & Ezekiel, Dante & Mephiston, etc) which could be released as Guilliman was as a Triumvirate box set with their corresponding Primarch. I suspect that is how we will see these launches, along side updated codexes for all three armies. Just my thoughts on that. Take it easy for now. -Red__Thirst-

Chaos Space Marine dedicated to Slaanesh

Since we're wish-listing, the three units I'd love to see for Emperor's Children are:
Modern take on the Palatine Blades. You know, an unit of duelists. I have a full unit of palatine blades painted as Noise Marines with close combat gear, but they could be so much more. Maybe an elite dueling cabal or something.
Pain/Pleasure engines like the Penitent Engine that the Imperium has.
An HQ unit that looks like Pinhead from Hellraiser. Something that would boost morale for friendly units and degrade morale for enemies. That would pair well with the 30k style for EC (combat morale manipulation). Again, when I think of Slannesh/EC, it's not all boobs and noise. It everything, driven to excess. The cenobites from Hellraiser are great example of that. (I know that the DE Haemonculus already kinda fit that look, we can do better)
Oh, and bring back the boob-snake mount. ;-)

Actually that would be a good idea to bring back the old Talos idea for EC instead. Where they had a slave inside powering the machine through it's suffering. Just dolled up for EC a bit.

Slaanesh as a faction is one of the things where I don't have too many ideas, so I'd honestly be okay with telling GW "just surprise me" and letting them do something new. We haven't seen much new stuff in service to the pleasure god for a while, so maybe the time is right to give Slaanesh the Death Guard treatment.

As a mono Slaanesh player I hope GW are listening. There's some great ideas on this thread.
Having said that, I would have thought revamped Noise Marines are surely most needed? (from a range perspective ... not for those of you who already have a 100 of em) ...
The old models are looking a bit ... 'dated'...

A Slaanesh codex would be the perfect opportunity to revive the Doom Rider model. A Daemon Primarch model of Fulgrim would be awesome, serpentine and four arms holding eldritch type poison blades.
I think it's a given that EC and WE will get their own codex but just a matter of when.

While I hope you are right, let's not forget that after GW released the Khorne Daemonkin Codex, is was also a "given" that Tzeentch, Nurgle and Slaanesh DaemonKin would eventually come out. I have no doubt that GW has discussed releasing EC and WE Codices, but time will tell it they follow through. Also keep in mind that EC and WE got legion specific stuff in the CSM codex, whereas T-sons and DG did not. GW knew they were releasing the later 2, so they left them out From a "completion" standpoint, GW doesn't need to release specific rules for EC or WE as they are covered in the CSM codex. -

Well, to be fair Khorne already has some exclusive stuff although all of those are LoWs or Forgeworld models and in the case of the Kytan Ravager and Brass Scorpion, both. But I would indeed like to see some new Khorne-specific infantry. Slaanesh needs an update across the whole range besides noise marines and the sonic dreadnought, from terminators to sorcerers to daemon engines.

At the very least, I'd like to see new Noise marine models, Fulgrim, Angron and possibly new Berserker kit.
But I can't see those justifying 2 separate Codices just for those.
