I've been painting models for ages now but I've never had a serious project thread so I thought I'd get one started. Partly as a record of what I've done but also as a bit of motivation to plug away at my projects!

Currently I've got two 40k armies on the go - Imperial Guard and Death Guard. I like Guard. I've got an Adeptus Mechanicus force too but that one has been mothballed for now as it needs a bit of rejigging and rebasing to be useable.

First up then is my Imperial Guard/Astra Militarum force - the Cadian 977th infantry regiment, and the Cadian 88th armoured regiment, kitted out for urban warfare rather than the traditional green and cream scheme.

Yeah! I loved it! I was reading it as I was building the army and it's one of the reasons I went for the colour scheme. Also I did the Scout Sentinels just to emulate Dead Man's Hand - I need to do some more with auto cannons eventually. If I could free hand I'd add that to the side of their hulls for sure! Funnily enough my other army is Death Guard like their opponents in the book... spooky!

My second Guard army is... Death Guard. Very fashionable I know but the miniatures are absolutely amazing and I wanted baddie army to sit opposite my goodies in the Imperial Guard.

Not a subtle army, I wanted to do something VERY bright and gaudy compared to the more gritty Imperial Guard force. Looking through some 80's and early 90's plague marines and stuff from the original Realm of Chaos and Slaves to Darkness books were very influential here - not really dirty and realistic looking, more the crazy mind bending end of chaos when colours were lurid and jarring.











Plus a few other daemons!

Yeah I had the three vet units set up for troops in 7th then 8th came along I still use them as my sole infantry though. Although I'm now planning on a full infantry platoon so they might not see the table so much.

Thinking of doing an alternative scheme for my vehicles that still ties in - bright rusty orange. We'll see how it looks, but it should match the bases.

Love the guard! Really clean painting, and the weathering on the tanks is very subtle!
The Death Guard are very well done, although I'm not such a fan of how bright of a green your primary colour is. Are they airbrushed?

Really love your deathguard. That vibrant green is strikingly bold. Looking forward to seeing those tanks painted up.

\Beautiful minis. Can I ask how you painted the sector and cork bases? Also what colours did you use for the guard tanks camo, it looks awesome
