So when should I expect the online store to restock?

I've been waiting to buy a whirlwind since august I really want a whirlwind cause it works pretty well into my lists but I can't buy one

A long, long time. I've been waiting weeks for the hellhounds to come back in stock with only a brief few hours before they went back out of stock.

Hit the 'email me' link so it will e-mail you when they are back in stock and then rush over when you get the e-mail

Do what us old folks used to have to do before there was a kit - build a basic rhino and scratchbuild the missile launcher. Or just get a basic rhino and e-bay the bits for the launcher.

Check Ebay if you don't mind ordering from another site.

Alternatively check with your local GW as they may be able to order items listed as out of stock (saw this with Harlequin Troupes).

If the rumors are any indication they are having unexpected problems related to power at one of their facilities because the uk gov is doing work near there. So no power for at least 6 months or so until it’s sorted.

The other place is at max capacity and out of power to expand.

So expect mass delays if these are true.

Especially since the Razorback, Predator, and Whirlwind all share the same alternate top plate for the turret mount. I strongly recommend this approach; the ability to swap out parts has kept me from getting swamped in redundant Rhino hulls for years.

Bleh just checked ebay there is literally 1 and its not even worth it with the shipping cost...

Valkyrie missile pods, storm eagle missiles, heck even Dreadnought missile arms can work to make a whirlwind. The Tau have a ton of missile systems that can work too, just slap some imperial eagles on the sides.

I have run into this same problem with several items on my wish list, and the dude at my local game shop told me the demand for 8th was far beyond what GW prepared for - and they stocked up apparently twice the normal amount of product that they normally have on hand.

I am sure the success of 8th edition has been a large factor for the lack of stock, but I bet we should see things get back to normal after the holiday season.

Was there really this massive run on 40k stock with 8th edition, or is that just the canned answer GW corporate is having it's redshirts say instead of 'we're having factory issues'.

Personally i'm thinking the latter.

Well, since this is the answer I got from two store owners from stores that are NOT GW? I'll say it is quite possible the truth, or perhaps a mix of both. I do know that multiple game shops I go to seem to have a hard time keeping SM in stock - or at least for the first couple months of 8th edition they did. Stock is starting to normalize for some items now. That is based off what I see on the shelves.

Getting an actual Whirlwind turret on ebay is near impossible. I've only seen (and managed to pick it up) 1 in the past few months

I've been tempted to pick up the Space marine alternative air defense missile launcher (remove the base and it fits on a rhino)
by hexyworkshop
But for $20 total for 1, that's pretty steep.

The Whirlwind has to be one of the easiest models to make suitable turret for, so at least there's that.

Stock seems to be returning. The TFC is back in stock after being out for a few months.
