I really enjoyed it. The meta-humour felt a bit less forced than the original, and I liked how the movie was able to switch tone. That's always been the appeal of Deadpool to me--that yes, you've got the goofy jokester, but it'd get old quick if that was all there was to him. There's a tragic and oddly inspiring edge to the character in how he keeps trying to be a hero despite the fact that he's naturally terrible at it, and recognising that stops this from being the superhero equivalent of Scary Movie.

"The 75mm gun is firing. The 37mm gun is firing, but is traversed round the wrong way. The Browning is jammed. I am saying "Driver, advance." and the driver, who can't hear me, is reversing. And as I look over the top of the turret and see twelve enemy tanks fifty yards away, someone hands me a cheese sandwich."

Not necessarily looking for spoilers here... but I heard everyone on X-Force dies at some point in the movie. Is that correct?

I saw it and predictably loved it.

Spoiler:
I can't believe not only the Juggernaut is in it but it was done in all the right ways. The moment I realized I was going to see the Juggernaut done right, I decided it was the best super hereo movie of the year.

Explicit in the spoiler tags, read at your own risk:

Spoiler:
Not Exactly. Domino survives the film, and at least one other (eventually, remember there's a time travel device in play).

But other than that they all die in the space of about 5 minutes from the parachute jump landing. Bedlam lands directly into the front of an oncoming bus. Shatterstar lands in helicopter rotor blades. The Vanisher hits a power line. Zeitgeist lands feetfirst into a woodchipper. Peter lands successfully but then goes to help Zeitgeist and is melted from his venom spit.

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

I'm really hoping that Dopinda becomes a Major Bad.

I know nothing of the comics. Enjoyed the movie.

So...Brad Pitt is the invisible guy hinted at in the trailers?

I didn’t actually see who he was... You only get to see his face briefly and I didn’t pay close enough attention to identify the actor.

Yes it was Brad Pitt, and the two Rednecks when Cable time travels are Alan Tudyk and Matt Damon.

I enjoyed the movie alot, felt on par with the first one to me, and thats a good thing. Good humor, good action.

One of the better sequels. Not quite as great as the first movie, but my expectations were higher here.

Looking forward to 10 more years of the Deadpool Cinematic Universe.

Just came back from it. I liked it, but didn't love it. It was a high bar to clear, though.

Spoiler:
Domino was great.

The way the X-Force lineup shook out was terrific.

I thought Juggernaut was perfect and am super happy he was finally done justice. That being said, it kind of looks like he was in a special mutant prison? He's not a mutant. I guess they never show him wearing a collar, though.

Cable was better than expected, but that was a low bar since I think the Cable character is super lame.

I like how they wrapped things up in the last 2 min.

Also, glad to see someone said that was Adam Tudyk - I thought that was him! I didn't recognize Matt Damon, though. I already knew the Brad Pitt story.

I saw it last night and I loved it. The jokes were bigger and crazier, and I think the comedy worked better than the first movie because this time Deadpool's madcap energy was imbued throughout the anarchic series of events we saw play out on screen. The first film was really fun, but it was basically Deadpool saying and doing some zany stuff while a fairly run of the mill superhero plot moved from scene to scene. This time Deadpool's anarchy spilled out in to everything around him, and it was glorious.

What's really impressive though, is it didn't result in a film that was just irony, or silly for the sake of silly. Despite all the anarchy it still worked as a superhero movie, better than most superhero movies. The plot moved at a good pace, they never lingered on any joke so long that the story lost momentum. The action scenes were really well done, fast and really brutal. Everyone's character motivations made perfect sense.

I honestly believe this is pretty close to a perfect realisation of the concept. People don't have to like it, of course, but if they don't it is because it isn't the kind of movie for them.

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”

On moon miranda.

I liked the movie, especually the end credits stuff.

That said, the second half dragged a bit and got rather incoherent and messy and a bit too self-aware to maintain itself in some.places.

Spoiler:
the drawn out death scene was a bit...too drawn out, I couldnt help but thinking of the stupid Family Guy gags they repeat where Peter falls and spends the next 90 seconds cradling his knee going "ow"

And that was his point - it's not a funny joke if you keep doing it for too long, and they kinda did.

I guess I would say that it extended to the point that it removed my attention from the film, it interrupted the experience, which, to me, killed the gag.

This is getting circular - we're perfectly capable of grasping the goal, but it was a moronic goal and the joke didn't land.

I thought it was great. In some ways I liked it more than the first, but overall I found the film less endearing. I think the best part of the whole movie was X-Force though. That whole bit there was just golden.

This one comes out of left field.

I'm not sure why this happened, but after I watched the Domino-centric trailer with LL Cool J soundtrack, for some reason my brain has replaced that song with "Insane in the Membrane" from Cypress Hill. Maybe it's Domino's comically poofy afro that somehow got correlated in my mind with the lead rapper of Cypress Hill. I dunno. What is really odd is that it almost fits the trailer just as well as the LL Cool J song.
