Hi,

I'm new to 40k and daemons so sorry if these question have been answered somewhere else and I missed it. I only have access to the chaos index and I'm about to enter a 1k tournament that uses all the updated rules.

Q1) Am I correct that in matched play tournaments when you write your list you can just leave %x of your list undeclared as summoning points/reserves and then summon whatever you like later? Is %x limited to %50 percent?

Q2) To use daemonic ritual (p68) it says you need the chaos & character key words. Does this mean that Exalted Flamers can be for daemonic ritual?

Q3) Burning Chariots blue horror confusion? Are these just part of the model and don't affect/act in any way other that the effect listed. In other words don't have wounds/attacks etc. I saw someone posting that the blue horror's split?

Q4) May be an error but BattleScibe lists Burning Chariots as have the Character key word. The Chaos index doesn't. Has there been an update I don't know about.

Thanks.

A1) You can leave as much as you want as Reinforcement Points. Keep in mind that if your CHARACTERS all die, you lose the ability to summon anything.

A2) Correct. It has the correct keywords and so may attempt to summon. Keep in mind that the Daemonic Ritual rule on a datasheet is there to show what units can be SUMMONED, not the ones who can do the summoning. Any CHAOS CHARACTER (Except Cypher, he's No-ones Puppet) can do the summoning, even ones that could possibly be summoned.

A3) Covered in the Chaos Index FAQ. Ghaz keeps a list up to date here, direct link here. Welcome to 40k, you're going to learn that GW hires Beagles for editors and you need several forests worth of errata and FAQ to get anything done. At least it's better than the old days! As for the horrors splitting, that's only for the normal Horrors unit, and even then that eats into your reinforcement points.

A4) It's an error in Battlescribe. Seems they got lazy (no surprises there) and copypasted the Heralds rules. Feel free to inform them on Github but expect to be attacked, have your posts edited and told you're a horrible person for intruding. Open Source projects have a tendency to be horrifically insular and feedback-phobic. Make sure you update your datafiles though in case it got fixed. There is a bug in Battlescribe which means you can't actually update the roster files normally, you have to totally remove them, then re-add them. Go to File > Data Repositories, remove the datafile and then re-add it.

Oh and one more thing, keep in mind that the "Categories" section in Battlescribe is not a list of keywords, but an internal category system. I might be missing something since I am drunk from all the Christmas festivities but I don't think Battlescribe actually lists what Keywords a unit has.

Oops I thought the Categories where the keywords.

Need to do more double checking.

Bacon, you must have had a very different experience to me on the BS github. I've opened many tickets and most have been fixed without problem.

It's probably all about the way you politely ask the bunch of unpaid volunteers generously compiling data for the sheer love of the game. ;-)
