Didn't see a post for this, and it is news, so...let's get some more visibility going!

Community feedback, no matter how basic, should probably be encouraged. I'm curious to see how smart they are about filtering their results given the places you can find their online Fanbase (600,000 votes for Ultramarines Upgrade Pack from totallynotabot.4chan.com?)

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

I voted for Saint Celestine and the Geminae. Simple but the most beautifull model released this year.

I was torn. I almost voted for Cypher, as I really like his mini. But I went with The Saint in the end. And not just in the hope of plastic sisters, but I honestly think she is probably the best mini to come out of GW this year.

I voted for the Lord-Aquilor on his Battle Chicken. It's a gorgeous characterful model, reminding me of an old timey fox hunt but with a battle chicken.

Wow, they actually think 2017 with its handful of releases was a varied and spectular line up?

This is actually the worst year GW has had for minis in several decades.

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

I ended up going with Voldus - sadly what this little voting survey pointed out to me...I haven't liked almost any of the 2017 sculpts from GW. Not that I hate all of them, but almost nothing they've released really appealed to me. That doesn't bode well for 2018.

Easily their Kharadron Ironclad. Nothing this year comes close to its style or complexity.

Yeap it’s a bit of a joke really. Nothing but the same gak at least as far as 40k goes. The only truly new thing they have done in years is the Kharadron Overlords. Then again the AoS models blow 40k out if the water. They just have more style and freedom to do cool stuff then 40k which is so constrained by space marines and decades of lore.

The only truly amazing stand out 40k model was the lord of change. There were good models here and there for 40k but nothing as close as AoS.

Thanks for paying for all the cool models marine players. Without you I don’t get my cool stuff funded.

I picked Plague Marines. I dont really like big models. I like simple and effective designs. Also from those models released in 2017 these Plague Marines (both from DI and normal box) were actually bought by me.

It would be cool to see an inter game model voting contest. A panel of the most experienced modelers and painters (not me lol) judge the best models made in 2017 and come out with a model of the year. I mean its a simple concept really I'm kind of surprised the hobby doesn't have one. Even video games have award shows but all the hard work and recongition of the actual model makers isn't going on display? While I doubt it would be a big event like the oscars, vga's, or emmy's I think it could work for a small stream format. The golden demon is kind of like that but it is only for best paint job and GW only.
