..

.. so missed out on the MMPB version of Wolfsbane at my local store -- although did manage to pick up the next book ( Born of Flame) ..

.. emailed GW and it seems they are not restocking or reprinting wolfsbane -- in that format anyway, so gotta try and shop around.

It's understandable but, frankly, a royal PITA.

Anyone got/seen a copy on their store's shelves ?

Might be worth also checking your local Waterstones store as well. They'll possibly have it in stock or be able to get it from another one of their stores.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

Welp, for once I managed to come out on top with these things - my order has been fully processed and is awaiting pickup, including the Sabbat book. Hopefully the fact it still seems to be up on the GW website(UK anyway) means everyone who ordered third-party will have a chance to get one in the end.

Their end of year Coffee Table type books do seem to last a bit longer than others. That said, I thought they'd broken that trend when they went unavailable. I'd still buy it soon if you want it badly though.

According to Waterstones, Wolfsbane MMPB isn't due out until February 2020, or have I missed something?

I wonder if they got a partial shipment, so a few to send to their own stores, but most will arrive in Feb?

be worth preordeing from Amazon, then cancelling & getting your money back if you manage to get it before then

In the same situation, I usually preorder a few at the time and Wolfsbane is the one that never popped up over on Book Depository, but the Salamanders one did.

What's new is nice, but I'm disappointed by how much is reused Guard 'dex art we've seen for years.

Sure, but there's also stuff from the original Sabbat book.

I can't be upset over reused art. I just can't.

I'm fine with reused art from the last edition. If I had a gripe with it, it's that it shows the new stuff up massively. There's so much more 40k 'character' in the older pieces, a real grittity gothicness that is almost completely lost in the much flatter, brighter, digitally drawn pieces. Compare the old piece of Slaydo with Lord Executor Gaunt for instance.

What does disappointment is how about a quarter of the pages are given over to full page pieces of art from the codex. It's still nice art, sure, but we've seen it so many times that it felt more like fluffing the page count.

Which is, of course, exactly what it is!

Hopefully there’s enough ‘new’ in there that we don’t feel too taken advantage of in the end.

Just purchased the new Last Chancers e-book on the BL site, but unfortunately the download is actually the Warhammer Horrorl story The Oubliette. Be warned...

Those are thankfully not Volpone (they look even more.. horrible!), but Urdeshi(?) infantry, who are on the same level as Tempestus Scions in terms of gear and training.

Urdeshi were the ones that we had introduced in "Guns of Tanith", wearing puzzle camo.

It's a Forge World that fell early on, producing the AT70 "Reaver" tanks.

I mean, they could just be Scions. Gaunt has a bodyguard unit of them assigned to him in the newest book.

The Sabbat Worlds book specifically calls them out as Urdeshi. The Urdeshi wear Cadian style armor plating rather than Scion styled.

They are Urdeshi, the book clearly says so.

Also, best of 2019 article: https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/12/25/favourite-novels-of-2019gw-homepage-post-3/

For those still hunting for a classic / mass paperback / legacy format of Wolfsbane, it's going to see a general release January next year alongside Slaves of Darkness:

Both are the same format, double checked this over at the Book Depository. Also pre-ordered Heralds of the Siege, bit early, still 94 days out as of typing this, but might as well do it now. With that, there's only two or three books left and I've got the entire regular (not counting novellas, audio dramas and other exclusives) on my shelf.

Lord of the Dark Millennium is up for preorder: https://www.games-workshop.com/Lord-Of-The-Dark-Millennium-HB-2020

Best of all, despite being a massive CHONK of words and paper, goes for the same price as their regular hardbacks, great move on part of BL, as I was worried it would either be a limited edition thing or overly expensive due to sheer size of the thing.

If you’re willing to wait until the 23rd of Jan for it, Amazon UK have it at £12.60 right now.

Hey all, I asked this over on the BL FB page about the new Blood Angels Book The Darkness in the Blood but got no response.

Hi, I got this amazing set today as a present today and am unsure on what books to read before hand. Guy talks about being the third book in the Blood Angels series but can't find the list. He also mentions Mephiston as well, shall I read Dante and the Mephiston trilogy before this? I've already read The Devastation of Baal

Thanks

Any help would be great!

Definitely read Dante 1st. It's a cracking book regardless. Then it's mephistons first 2, but I wasn't crazy on them. Darkness in the blood then the 3rd of mephistons which again wasn't great for me. YMMV
