OK!

According to this:

https://www.warhammer-community.com/2021/01/10/sunday-preview-plague-bearers-and-ring-wearers/

this coming Saturday is my shot at the LE Alpharius book.

Should I be looking for it on Black Library's site, or GW's main site?

And it will pop in at 1PM EST on Saturday, right?

And given the whole time zone thing, across the world, how exactly does Black Library handle that when it comes to limited numbers of books for sale?

Main site, they don’t do them on the Black Library site anymore. They have a certain number for different timezones (so they won’t all sell in the UK before they even go up in the US, if that’s what you’re worried about).

Be there before the release time because whilst there is a set time, sometimes things go up just before. 20mins before would be good and then make sure you've got your payment details saved and such to process quickly etc...

That was one of the things I was worried about - thanks!

Thank you!

I'll get there early, and make sure my payment particulars are good to go...

With regards to payment, this has helped me immensely in the past with these purchases, buy an e-voucher in advance so you have enough credit on your account for a fast one-click checkout, as you don't have to deal with the hassle of waiting for a credit card or Paypal account to clear the transaction.

It's an Alpha Legion book. If you order it you might get a pretty wrapped copy of "The Cat in the Hat" with a post it saying Thanks for funding our espionage efforts.

Someone on Reddit said somewhere in the $60-80 range, but there should be a pricelist floating around somewhere in one of the many GW threads.

Pricelist usually comes out on Tuesday for GW.

My worry would be not getting it still, and having a £50 voucher that I probably won’t use for much else - I don’t buy a lot from GW direct!

Does anyone use the actual Black Library site for anything anymore? I can’t remember the last time I bought anything from it directly. I only use GW main site. Not sure if BL site even sells physical books anymore

If they'd accept Paypal I'd buy more ebooks and audio dramas from there, but it is for some reason CC only still.

It's poorly put together for finding stuff that isn't the latest release unless you know the title and use search. Heck for some reason they "ran out of tab space" so all the Old World and a bunch of other stuff is all lumped into one messy listing.
They DO have everything they sell and GW doen't use DRM on their digital books if that is important to you (otherwise Kindle ebooks do). But it is messy to navigate and its hard to see what sets books are in (series) or what short stories are in collected editions etc...

Heck I had to make this

https://warminiatures.wordpress.com/2018/08/31/warhammer-fantasy-classic-black-library-listings/

over a few long afternoons just to make sense of the Old World publications. Did one for AoS too (because there they like to put the same stories into different collected editions)

Livid. I had it in my checkout from 9:55, website down for maintenance for me for 20 minutes, sold out. Reports of people managing to get both Alpharius and Mortis, and obviously scalper copies on eBay for £140.

They really need to sort the web store out if they’re gonna release 2 LEs the same day.

Yeah, that was a total gakshow.

I has to put in my one time passcode for Mortis eight times, so if I get charged £400 I won't be happy.

Well, if you end up with 8, I’ll be happy to relieve you of one of them.

I have no idea how fast everything sold out, but I was able to get a copy of the LE Alpharius book - huzzah!

I think I picked up both Mortis and Alpharius (got charged and confirmation e-mails, so fingers crossed), was a right mess though.

Went for Mortis first as I was more bothered about getting that, very slowly clicked through the checkout process, did the Paypal payment then after that I was redirected back to the GW Website Down message, though a few minutes after, that updated to the order placed screen.

Then went through for Alpharius, which was a bit smoother but still slow.

Later in the day I did get an e-mail from GW with the message "We saw you checking these items out (Mortis and Alpharius), why not pop back and buy them", which would have been rubbing salt in the wound a bit considering they'd been out of stock for hours by that point.

Guess their release schedule is messed up, but still seems weird to release two limited editions from similar ranges on the same day.

These were probably supposed to be spaced out, but due to how things have been going, it'll be pre-orders every two weeks for the coming time. If they're sticking to what's been shown, then next Sunday they'll announce the next batch of made to order Horus Heresy hardbacks and a pile of other novels, along with the limited edition of Gate of Bones.

Saturnine is the current weekly ebook on offer. Best book in the Siege of Terra series so far IMHO, nicely gives us a lot of good gak that we've been looking forward to for some time now.

You know what’s weird, they don’t say in the blurb in the page which books they are in the series? For people who might want to grab it without having prior research, this doesn’t say what one it is

Not too bad a humble bundle for BL.

Three tiers. AoS first I have two or three.
40K second. Again I have a couple.
Highest tier Horus Heresy. I can skip it as I have them all!

It's a nice bunch but yeah, top tier is pretty much a pass for me, as I've already gotten those through other bundles over the years.

Will probably skip this one, as aside from Requiem Infernal I've pretty much read every one of those already.
