They could've left the stats in for those of us who did buy and use them, though (they were one of my favourites; better than the Shasvastii). They needn't even be ITS-legal if people are worried about game balance.

Yeah, it would be like when Combined Army lost the Exrah. It was only 4 units, but at the time that was over 1/10th of CA total forces, and all 4 were good units (with two being arguably the best units in the game at the time).
Nobody bought them, nobody played them?
Exrah were phased out for commercial reasons, they never made the investment back and casting more of them meant loosing more money (given they ripped the moulds apart quite fast and they sold so slow).
I think they and the old CA remotes are a testament that "starfish aliens" really do not sell.
what does any of that have to do with what I said?

If there are stats then there must be a model and if there is not a model there must be plans for it to be produced.

It is not the same motivation or reason behind it.

Yes. So? I was talking about what a loss it was (and still is) for CA players, not the motivations behind it. The motivation is beside the point. Its okay for CA players to miss Exrah units and lament their loss. It'll be okay for YuJing players to do the same with JSA, if thats what comes to pass.

Yeah, I’m sure it’ll be the only brawler model they ever make, right?
Remind me again how you can get an Authorized Bounty Hunter in power armor with a Boarding Shotgun? A Devil Dog with Chain Rifle? Maverick with Boarding Shotgun? CB looooooooooves their 'exclusives'.
In any regards, man...I'm sure BioWare would love to know that someone 1:1'd the Apex Pathfinder armor.

Why? The whole point of my reply was that CB could have simply said "We're doing away with the Exrah miniatures, but for those of you who own them, here's some rules so you can continue to use them in non-ITS games, with your fellow players' consent." It's no different, really, to there being stats for models that don't appear for ages. I assume your reply means that CB have chosen not to do this, but that doesn't stop me thinking it's a poor idea.

Isn’t that just the N2 profiles?
On a different subject, will there be more than just the 2 known nonaligned armies in this book? A whole book seems like a lot for 2 army lists and fluff for a handful of new units.

Doesn't seem like a lot if you consider they might be republishing the complete list of units in one place.

I also hope that it will be more than just the Druze we've already seen and this new JSA. It wouldn't surprise me to see at least one of the other Merc outfits.
It may just be me, but I'm pretty unimpressed by this set of models. At least at first glance. The big HI looks really, really bad, the Keisotsu, Kempei and Oniwaban are better sculpted but less interesting than the models they're replacing and the rest are pretty boring looking. And except for the Oniwaban they all have the really generic "holding gun and kind of vaguely looking around" poses that seem to be the new thing for Infinity.
Also, I love Celty, but the pop culture references are getting tired. Especially here where its literally half the box.

If you’re referring to the contents of the book, sure, they’ll resist the profiles, but likely only the ones in the new armies. As for fluff, they’ve never republished unit fluff in the same edition that I know of.

We've never had a situation like this where a faction's been split off.

Some of the speculation right now is that the "outrage" that PanO players will have is because the Kaizoku is based off of a Bolt-like unit(which is what the Ryuken Unit 9 are supposedly) that can Link with them.
Which yeah, that'd be pretty irritating.

Is that a new TAG, or a resculpt of the existing JSATAG?
The O-Yoroi hasn't been resculpted.
The thing in that big box is a S5 Heavy Infantry.

Infinity the Game wrote:Interesting times are upon us.
During various days the Maya net has been filled with cryptic messages that have left a wave of conjectures, theories and wild guessing: is Yu Jing asking for an end of all the hostilities against the Combined Army? Is Corvus Belli planning the next Outrage issue? Or maybe JSA and Shasvastii have come together to form a new faction called Jazzvastii… soon all will be unveiled.
We have had some intense days here at Corvus Belli and now is when all the previous work culminates in a vibrant wave of information and activity. A new content week will be published from the 5th to the 11th of March through the Beasts of War web page and Corvus Belli’s social network to unveil new troops, miniatures, armies and surprises for every Human Sphere dweller.
“Infinity Uprising” is the upcoming new Infinity wargame book that will expand on the Sectorial Army range with the addition of the Non-Aligned Armies (NA2). A book that will develop the narrative of the Infinity Universe through this coming year of 2018. The story told will carry tremendous implications for the status quo of the Human Sphere factions.
Through these last weeks we have been unveiling small tips in some corners of Mayanet that did not go unnoticed by the experienced eye. The common reading was evident: an uprising among the most active parts of the Japanese society was shaping up against Yu Jing’s StateEmpire. An unstoppable secessionist movement that wants a change that the Jade Empire will not and cannot tolerate.
The conflict is served, Yu Jing will not hesitate to use the Imperial Service or even deploy the Invincibles to crush the rebellion immediately, but they will face the Japanese Army as they have never seen it: The new JSA, the Japanese Secessionist Army.
Corvus Belli releases a new JSA Army Pack. A box that opens new horizons for the Japanese troops. A background booklet, missions, scenery, dice, markers and some very high-quality miniatures.
All the questions will receive their answers during the next week and, probably, many new questions will come. The only recommendation I can make is: stay alert and get your miniatures ready, they are going to be more alive than ever.

So using "factions" is interesting. Sounds like more then just JSA.
Thought this was worth highlighting now that we know there's a whole unaligned book coming.
Yeah. More Merc companies and maybe some kind of 0-12 force seem like likely candidates, although I really hope we end up with something more interesting than that.

Oh ya, I totally wasn't expecting the book right now as in January Bostira said it wasn't coming until May-June so it looks like he was messing with us on that.
This also contains all the updated Dire Foes missions and Stats. Apparently there's an overarching story between all those missions that's supposed to hint at what's going on either later this year or next year fluff wise.

The Kempeitai looks to be armed with a new type of weapon to? It doesn't match the current YuJing weapons. Its not a boarding shotguns since it laks the drum mag and its much longer than a combi. The gun is about 50% the height of the model.
New Marksman profile?

What is the Geisha holding in its right hand? A cat? Too Silly. In its left hand, the briefcase, a sub-machine briefcase? So, a CSU, or a WarCor or something new. A silly mini.
The book is intriguing, and the brawler mini would not lookout of place among my Haqq forces. I'll skip the JSA box. But I was planning to do so anyway.
Also, so not the book we expected eh?

Most likely an HVT mini

Well yes as they were upfront in January that this was the book coming out this year and they want to do smaller book releases that can come out for frequent. They just deliberate told us it wouldn't be out until the summer so they could drop it in early as a surprise.
I wouldn't be surprised is this was a chunk of stuff that was originally targeted for Archeon Falls.

While a new book is a pleasant surprise (and like, a legitimately new one, not another 2nd Edition reprint) I'm still finding it hard to get hyped over anything before I know what units I'm losing from my vanilla lists.
I really wish CB would have prioritized communicating what Yu Jing keeps and what they lose as part of this release announcement, because I'm in no mood to throw money at them when a good-sized chunk of my collection is at risk of getting Ko Dali'd/Exrah'd unless I pay them more money to start a faction I wasn't really interested in.
Either way, I'm going to need a ton more info before I even think of pre-ordering that book, which will sort of make this a first for me. Normally new Infinity books have me pretty excited (even the re-prints), but the lack of communication about the state of Japanese units has definitely dulled any sense of hype I may have otherwise gone in to this with.

This is the problem with leaks. Due to the data leaking, we've known long enough to feel like there's a lack of communication, but realistically this is their first unveiling, which stated plans to make next week about explaining things. That kind of stuff shouldn't be the focus and a weekend to let the hype part settle before getting into the details is totally appropriate. Unfortunately, the hype part ended already because we basically found out a week early.
