Yes its true. I have been looking for a substitute for the amazing old GW inks for a long time. Turns out its just good old printer ink. When I was changing an empty cartridge I spilled some ink on my model and its just like the amazing GW wonder ink. Only problem is it wont dry on the model, any ideas what to mix with it to make it dry?

Low ambient humidity and time?
It would explain the prices of both types of ink, though.

If it didnt dry then its not really the same is it?
also printer ink being like 3x the cost of the miniature its probably not worth it.
Vallejo makes some good inks.

Which ones are you looking to replace? As Coat D'arms literally did the old GW range and it is still available from them.

I second this. It's important to remember that GW doesn't actually make paints. They contract with actual paint manufacturers to make the paints for them. The 'old school' paints from GW were made by a company called Coat D'Arms. This company is still in business and still sells the exact same paints if you're looking for a match.
Alternatively, do what I do. Make MASS quantities of your own washes for dirt cheap using the following thread...

Guys, OP is well known board troll, this is quite likely an attempt to find new ground as the regulars in News and 40K discussions know him to well.
