Many folks would consider somebody who brought 2 or more to be an exemplar of the worst aspects of the game! (not me but the sentiment was out there) Tau players are lucky that the riptide was even included in their index, since we had our vendettas removed for being too powerful.
But those guys with 4 shield captain bikes are great people

If you're talking Stealth/Crisis/Broadside, you have a point.
If you're talking Riptide and upwards, the Gundam kits are over here - please take that rubbish out of 40k.

"Courage and Honour. I hear you murmur these words in the mist, in their wake I hear your hearts beat harder with false conviction seeking to convince yourselves that a brave death has meaning.
There is no courage to be found here my nephews, no honour to be had. Your souls will join the trillion others in the mist shrieking uselessly to eternity, weeping for the empire you could not save.
To the unfaithful, I bring holy plagues ripe with enlightenment. To the devout, I bring the blessing of immortality through the kiss of sacred rot.
And to you, new-born sons of Gulliman, to you flesh crafted puppets of a failing Imperium I bring the holiest gift of all.... Silence."

Tau will lose the commander spam, which is our only good unit, drones will go up by 2 points, and the riptide will be 10 points cheaper to compensate.
Also fusion blasters will gain a 5 point price raise.
It’s only fair guys, we had riptides last edition. We were the most OP faction, with broken units, we deserve to trash tier, unlike eldar.
I’d love to play a tau army that wasn’t 75 fire warriors, 40 pathfinders and 48 drones.

ofc i am talking about the lesser suits, they are the core of a suit army afterall and they need a generall fixing(aka point reduction), but that doesnt mean that a riptide/ghostkeel and stormsurge should be made usless with the nerf/point hammer.
but an army consisting of only the 95,104 and 128 is indeed a toy army. if some1 wants to play that kind of army they better jump on knights.

Oooou, thats an interesting thought.... what if the big tau suits got more variants, and were given then own tau 'Knight' book? Could be one aspect of a proposed tau soup.
Tau knights, Kroot/vespid mercenaries, human Auxiliaria and the core tau book?

Marmatag wrote:I'm fine with Tau receiving buffs, but commanders can't stay as strong as they are if you want a balanced army. I know people are going to rage at me for that but it's true. Part of having a balanced force means you don't have one glaringly OP "all situations" unit. And I agree with the above poster. Don't expect to be balanced to IG levels.
I won't rage at you, it's absolutely true. Tau Armored Company has been a dream of mine since High School. Lots of people keep telling me no, they say just stick with the commanders and the suits. But, you know, this is my hobby, and I'll build my armies how I please! That said, I'd like to see them at the very least be playable.
