Same here though, this is more of a pet project than something that will ever see a gaming table.

I feel the same way, that thought scares me on imperial models. The ork stuff I have it's a lot easier to go crazy since if it ends up looking a bit weird, then that's fine too.
(Also, not sure if it's a wise thing to point out, but you've misspelled banning in your signature)

Most Ork kits also go together quite nicely with one another due to how modular they are.

There's a lot of really neat Knight conversion stuff out there, you just have to look for it. There's a guy that makes shields and such for Paladins, I imagine he'll expand to making conversion bits for the new kits or someone else will.

Third party isn't an option everywhere, especially if one frequents a GW store. I did see a neat conversion at a local store that used parts of the industrial terrain as a massive shield, which looked pretty neat.

Sir Hecktor & Canis Rex cost 50 more than Robbie G to field. Rex is the new Preceptor class 4A hits on 2+ for CC &Range. Pulse Laser 36″ 2d6 S6 -2 D3 or 18″ D6 S12 -4 d6 damage. Hand of Liberty (melee) S16 -4 2d6 Damage (always at least a 6) trhows dead vehicles and monsters 9″ doing d3 MW on a 4+. If Sir Hecktor survives Rex’s 2d6 explosion d6MW explosion sets up on board and plays. Vet Guard statline w/ Archotech pistol S5 -2 2. Affected by Freeblade table.

That makes him cheaper than any non-baby knight we have right now. Well hell, looks like knights came down in price. Maybe more than was already suggested.

The Pulse Laser looks usable. Pretty decent anti-horde with 2d6 shots. And then anti-tank up close. Fingers crossed it becomes a standard option for other Knights.

Quality, survives point blank explosion after charging into the thickest grouping of monsters and maniacs, just pulls out a pistol and goes to town. Emperor bless these heroic members of the Imperium.

It's also funny that I've been planning a dismounted noble conversion since February now (still waiting on that model to arrive) who is also armed with just a pistol.

If that's true about Rex, then this Preceptor class Knight has a upper body that looks remarkably like the Paladin/Errant model. Even down to the vent placements. Unless the Regimental Standard banner image is not the "current" Canis Rex, and in the tradition of all good giant robot stories Sir Hekhtur got himself a mid season upgrade?

If on the off chance that the dismounted pilot rules become a faction wide thing, the Van saar kit for Necromunda would be my go to choice.

I don’t think you could ever “buy” it. It was a promotional offer, free with the purchase of a FW knight iirc.

For what it's worth, that model had a giant weird turkey neck anyway. Here's hoping we get a new, plastic one.

Otherwise Van Saar are literally perfect.

I plan on using Van Saar as the pilots of the Armigers for sure, their suits have a certain look and feel to them that isn't out of place with Knights.

As for the Forge World model, a head swap can make all the difference in the world, in this case a head from Statuesque Miniatures (I cannot find the source where I got the model, apologies!):

I will happily eat crow if we get Knights next week but it would be a strange decision. Knights are a massive release which would completely overshadow the run up to AOS 2. Also limiting the release window to just a week or two does not give them the time they need unless there are fewer kits coming than rumoured which would be disappointing.

Again, they said the new version is released in June..not all accompanying models, kits, dice, etc. It's going to spill into July. Knights also are not going to have that many new kits and a single book, some dice probably, and cards. Also there was the rumor of the terrain piece. Sounds like a 2 week launch easily.
