Just a heads up regarding Hachette, they are one of those company's that when things are going well it's all good. Should something go wrong...then you will never get it sorted out. Sort of like Vodafone.
I've been in contact with them since May regarding them sending duplicate Warhammer Legends books, I've not been able to sort it out. They either don't bother to reply to customer service emails, or reply with utter nonsense. I've even had two emails from them within minutes saying completely different things.
Their online customer service doesn't use a ticket system, it is not allocated to one rep to completion and is generally a mess. The phone number? Well if you are lucky enough to get through you will be on the cheapest international line possible that, even if you do understand them will hang up halfway through.
That is not the best part. No the best part is they have no inter-departmental communication, even though I've been trying to resolve the issue since May their accounts department kept sending payment reminders and adding administration fees. With ever increasing threats in their letters before finally being warned by their litigation department. Finally they set the debt collectors on me.
Happy days, I phoned the debt collectors upon receiving the letter, got through to an English speaking human being actually in the UK and perhaps have resolved the issue, and left the agency to sort it out.
So, knowing that I decided not to subscribe to Conquest. Ordered issue one online on the 29th and have received only 1 issue of my order, with no communication from them until a day or so ago, after asking them six times for an update.
Then today I got an email asking when I was going to pay them for the Conquest trial subscription they rolled on without my permission.
Their excuse about being really "busy" is nonsense, they are always like that. Kinda depressing seeing all the sites shilling it, without actually warning people what the company is like. Partworks companies have always had a dodgy reputation.
On the opposite end, I have had no issue at all with Hachette for four and a bit graphic novel collections except poor quality packaging leaving me with damaged books. They have always replied to my customer service email within 24 hours and posted out replacements on numerous occasions with no questions asked or damaged books returned. I am not sure if I have just been lucky, you have been unlucky or perhaps both.

Thanks for sharing your experience with them. There was a small bit of warning given earlier in the thread about the woes people were having dealing with them when subscribed; thankfully most of the bargain value was front loaded in the first few issues and they were available in bricks and mortar stores. I do think it is definitely worthwhile when people share their bad experiences like this. In my case I was on the cusp of subscribing but backed off after reading some of the feedback. Managed to get a rake of issue 1 anyway so win win really but will probably miss out on Issue 5s exclusive which sucks.
A grudge never too old to settle with metal and ire on the funeral pyre of vanquished foe
To be fair I don't think it's just Hatchette. I've just spent a month dealing with Hearst magazines trying to cancel an annual subscription for one of their products I've been subscribed to for 4 years. Many unanswered phonecalls to their helpline, numerous ignored requests for a password reset and 2 ignored emails in the last fortnight, one to tell the I wanted to cancel, and 1 telling them that I'd spent 5 minutes talking to my bank to cancel the DD all without response. Until today when they finally answered my first email... I'm guessing the magazine trade doesn't do customer service. I'm just awaiting the DD payment to be taken out for issues 3-6 of Conquest now
Why couldn't I have had my current income when 5 Aspect Warrors were £2.99 a blister...
When I cancelled my last two Hachette collections they accepted it via email and took less than 24 hours to be confirmed. Just make sure you always email rather than contact form or telephone as they are not helpful.
Yep, I think all these partwork companies can be a bit of a nightmare when things go wrong, I spent ages getting a refund from DeAgostini when they billed me twice and plenty of people seem to have problems with Eaglemoss (who I have a feeling are actually part of the same company as Hachette).
I'm thinking I'm probably going to cancel the Conquest sub after the next batch of issues (to get the exclusive model), as the mag is not really for me and although the models are a decent saving there's plenty of things there that I either already have, or wouldn't choose to buy.

Yeah been showing since the lead up to issue one.
Good to be getting it out there though for the hobby

Yeah I’m really torn, with repeats coming so soon, and most likely Dark Imperium soon after that, before getting to the things I'd want. I don’t know whether to go for individual purchases as I need them on a forbidden planet
Automatically Appended Next Post: Maybe I’ll give it to the 4th delivery, get an extra free gift out of it, and chance to see what a few more issues will be early on.
And 14 issues of paint tutorials and all that when my son gets old enough to use them..
I imagine more will go until delivery 7 for the brushes, but by then, it’d be cheaper to just buy the brushes unless all the 26 issues of stuff are the things wanted/needed..

I have had the opposite experience, albeit only once.
I collected the Judge Dredd books, and during the whole time I had 2 blips.
One I contacted them about, in one delivery i got the same book twice, but with different issue numbers on them. Contacted them via the website, they apologised and sent me a replacement, no questions asked, even thought it was months after I recieved the delivery.
Second one, they just sent me a replacement book because "the cover spine was not printed correctly".

While not great, at least I have had a response with an expected timeframe for delivery and they have got the correct number of outstanding copies.
I have received a single copy of Issue 1 today, so looks as if the emphasis should have been on the word separately in their email. 2 more to go...
Anyone else received part deliveries of additional copies?

Yep, I received a single copy of issue one today, with the remainder still outstanding. So in total that's 2 I have received one at a time, weeks apart.
So glad I went with an order via my newsagent for the weekly issues and not a subscription.
Interesting, many assumed it was going to be the start of the Dark Imperium miniatures from 7 onwards. Looking at my account the 3-6 delivery was "processed" on 21st September, so hopefully I will get my delivery soon.
I just hope that Hatchette sort their issues sorted quickly, and that those complaining "where is my issue 3 or 4 they are in the shops!!! " realise that the issues are being sent out in groups of four rather than one at a time (unless you ordered multiples of issue 1 and are in that whole snafu).
I was lucky enough to get issues 1-4 for free, since I signed up early. If they're sending 3-6 in one go, I think I'm stopping there, full value extracted, with a unique character in issue 5.
So set 3-6 will be £24.
With it not being straight into DI for 7-10, I think that pack may be worth having too.
Already £31.60 of RRP in two of the four issues. Then some extra goodies that will be a ‘true surprise’
(Unless anyone here is buying individual issues and gets that Librarian, they can tell us what 9/10 have)
Your several posts out of the loop Aeneades!
Old news now.
7&8 are the hot topics!
Automatically Appended Next Post: Thing is with this format of releases. It’s like GW, we get the info a few weeks ahead so there’s not a surprise in the magazines.
Not sure if I prefer that or not..
Automatically Appended Next Post: Then again.
We already know the full collection so I guess it matters not

He answered Drakheart's question
Sorry Aeneades I meant Drakheart anyway, it’s cos I was quoting you!
All in good jest.
Automatically Appended Next Post: DI = Dark Imperium starter box
Automatically Appended Next Post: Trouble is JWBS, we will end up dying that every month when they sneakily tease us with something that’s worth ‘just one more month’

He doesn't come with anything else (bar a 40mm base, are the other Primaris heroes on bases that big?), those days are over I expect! Hence me cancelling here. I'm not that bothered with this guy, not a big fan of sword drawing poses, I might pop him on eBay.

One has already sold for £29.99.
Just got my delivery, happy with my subscription thus far. Of interest to some is that whilst the store copies for issues 3/4 that I have seen have the minis and paint in a box my subscription copies come with the plastic trays seen in issues 1 and 2.
