I’ve only just got issues 23-26. Seems they’ve dropped me several weeks behind inexplicably.

Lucky you.
Didn’t get. Now charged and awaiting 27-30.
But apparently sent another set. So hopefully I’ll get back on time.

Had my 27-30 today. The invoice was for 15th March. Looks like I've moved forward in the delivery list. Previously it was invoiced last Friday of the month and delivered two weeks later.

I called time on my sub after my delivery of issues 23-26, I just felt that after all of the free gifts having been delivered there was not that much value left in it for me. I already have a sizeable Death Guard army and already own Dark Imperium. I am also not that fussed about the ancient Marine miniatures (Land speeder, bikes, scouts) still to come.
Any of the terrain I am missing I can pick up as time goes on, and a fair chunk of the paint to come is not relevant to me. That said I still have the Primaris Chaplain and Apothecary issues on pre order from Forbidden Planet as they still represent great value.
I will miss my monthly hobby drop, best of luck to all continuing subscribers. May your deliveries be on time and any errors in your favour.

That was my plan after 27-30, as I wanted the Rhino too.
After that I shall just try and grab the 9 remaining issues of things I want. (Mostly the DG characters)
Or if not but those models at discount.

I was debating on cancelling after the sub after the free gifts but I've been enjoying it. As other people have said it's a nice surprise and also helps keep me in check with not buying new things(as tempting as the new chaos releases have been).

The monthly hobby drop has been a much more enjoyable element than I'd expected.
Somebody wondered before if GW would be tempted to cut out the middle man and do a direct subscription service themselves.

Trouble is, it isn’t a surprise as I know what’s in the months, so when ones coming I already know if it’ll be really interesting or not (and the paints all coming seem to be repeats (either from this, or just my personal collection..)

Well, bit annoyed now.
Still no 23-26, no 27-30. Which I’d have had both by now normally..
After the discussion where they said I wouldn’t be charged for the binder. The months DD has just come in and of course it’s £40..

Picked up issue #1 in my local news agency - didn't expect it to be so large (book and minis stuck next to each other on a big honking piece of cardboard - 40 x 45cm).
They had quite a few of them there, too! Hope they keep them up!

I nipped into my local agency today as well. 5 Copies there waiting to be sold. Had to work real hard at not buying at least one. 5 bucks for 3 paints and a brush (as well as 3 minis) is hard to pass up. But i've subscribed already and I not really need multiple of the same paints that i'll probably never use up.
Hoping they keep getting them in so I can pick up extra issues for things I do want.

It’s likely they won’t after the first few issues (those are returnable for refund with Hachette).
Unless someone is regularly buying or put an order in with the newsagents. I could yeah. But as I already knew I wouldn’t want everything from the sub in reality, it was better to find out, and to individually order.
A good 30 issues was great setting up though

My paintbrush wasn't great at all - it felt like it had glue over the tips of the bristles. I will try to give it a clean-up, but might need to resort to cutting it and leaving it as a spare drybrush.
Assuming they do come out in stores, how often is that expected to be? Four issues together each month, or one issue each week?

In stores it’s one every week (Wednesday here I believe).
The bundle of four thing is just for subscribers to make postage possible for Hachette cost wise.
But as I say above, if you are wanting it guaranteed in store. You’ll have to speak to your newsagents and they’ll put an order in for you.
If a certain store starts selling them well they might put a standard order of four each time let’s say, but that’s if they are regularly seeing four people come in etc.
If you are one of the four regulars, but one week a fifth person comes and buys, or one of the others gets two on a particularly juicy issue. You’d be out of luck..

The first issue brush is a Starter set version that I believe is a cheaper make than the standard GW retail brushes. Different brushes come with future issues but part of the Subscriber gift collection includes a set of brushes additional to these.

Yep - I've seen starter brushes before, but this brush felt like the tip had been dunked in glue. Not sure it's usable for anything other than very general basing or non-specific drybrushing.

Hiding behind terrain
|
Ive decided im going to try to cherry pick mainly the death guard characters issues and buy the Dark Imperium boxset because it contains the big rulebook as I havent played since 6th edition. Always wanted a Death Guard army but dont really need the terrain and the primaris are abit too "samey" to normal marines Ive got a million of already.
Was comparing magazine contents to the various box sets to see what savings they had in comparison to specific boxset contents.
Issues 1-4 have the same models as the First Strike starter set ($55AU) but with 6 paints for $58AU (cheaper if you get the free issue for subscribing).
Figured out that the repeated easybuild plague marines and poxwalkers issues in issues 6 and 9 are because of the easybuild Death Guard set ($140AU) being spread out over 4 issues. If anyone is just getting the models it looks like issue 6 and 9 don't have paints so you can grab a second issue of 2 and 4 instead and get 2 paints and dice plus issue 2 is only $13. So you can get the models from the easy build Death Guard box for $73AU this way getting issues 2, 4, 10 (blight hawler $35AU) and 19 (lord felthius + continue $55AU).
Besides the contents of First Strike and Dark Imperium, the primaris side seems to be made up of no boxsets.

Not glue exactly, but a conditioner to keep the bristles in place. It's quite common on artist brushes and washes off with water

Hi,
I'm on my third delivery, but they have delivered 15 to 18.
I am also missing issue 3.
I'm wondering is there somewhere I can access the painting guides from 3 to 14?

Sooo... I received a letter from Internationale Presse that was handling German distribution.
German Conquest has gone "on a break" before delivering even the first issues that were due in March.
No timeframe if or when it will come back.
Preorders were taken down from their website.
Quite disappointed.

That sounds like it was a trial release to gauge interest before they properly release later in the year. Sometimes this trial releases actually release a few issues in stores in a limited part of the country or just open a website and see how many people signed up. Hopefully, in Germany, enough people signed up to make a proper launch worthwhile.

They’ll replace the 7-10 from your third delivery, and send you 3 if you let them know.
Having said that, I never received 23-26, and it’s been ‘getting sorted’ for ages now. And still not arrived..

Is it still possible to get single issues of this. Nowhere locally still stocks it, and the hachett website already shows the apothecary as sold out.
I wouldn't mind picking up a few issues as part of a painting project, but don't want to sub to the whole thing.

The Rhino issue, 27, has been in and out of stock twice on Forbidden Planet's site. I picked up an extra pair from them after the initial out of stock.
If Forbidden Planet go out of stock for the Apothecary, they should have it back within a week or two. Automatically Appended Next Post: Aeneades wrote: Hanskrampf wrote:Sooo... I received a letter from Internationale Presse that was handling German distribution.

Same happened in the UK. Those who signed up for the trial run received a notice that the magazine would be officially launched later. Once the official launch was announced I received a follow on email from Hachette letting me know that if I reconfirmed the sub, the first four issues were free as a thanks for participating in the trial.
For the trial, the mag was only available in a limited area in stores for the first four issues.
