I pre-ordered these months ago, they’ve not had to take them off shelves to give me. If people are too slow to order then I don’t honestly feel bad because I got a bunch.

And why not? It's a free country, and that's how capitalism works.
At the same time I can't help but feel sorry for all of the people who wanted one and haven't been able to get one.
This is one of those times where I feel that GW/hatchette/forbidden planet should have limited the amount of copies that one customer could buy, but I'm not sure how that could be enforced.
I'm getting multiples of many various issues, but then I've given my newsagent a list/order for how many of each issue as they come out for the first 30 (we'll up to #11 today). If it wasn't for me, they wouldn't be stocking it at all. I have to assume there are more people in a similar situation with an "order" in at their local.
Anyone with a direct sub (or multiple subs) isn't preventing anyone from getting anything. The only potential problem would be if a newsagents were getting in a few each week for randoms to buy, but with partworks, I feel like by the time you get to issue 41 most casual purchasers will be long gone.
I’m a casual purchaser, I pick them up from forbidden planet whenever an issue drops that has good content, like the chaos rhino and a few of the characters. Incidentally I did order the PBC issues online as I guessed that they might be more difficult to find.

Yeah, rightly or wrongly that’s exactly the thought that goes through my mind when I hear of people buying 5 copies of each.

If you're gong to do that, then just do it; it's the dishonest justification that annoys me more, really.
On the other hand, buying five for personal use is fine; I can definitely understand the preference to simply have multiple models instead of magnetising, for all sorts of reasons.

When I think of how easy it is to magnetise a small gun option, compared to painting multiple extra tank models, I don't really understand the argument to be honest, but maybe I'm missing something here.

It's just fiddly and annoying; perhaps some people prefer assembling and painting to drilling a million holes.
There's also a visual aspect - it's quite often obvious that a part is magnetised, which may be a problem. Or perhaps the position of the magnetised parts makes picking up the model awkward.

Yeah it depends on what your favourite part of the hobby is, mine is painting. There’s also a new version of Apocalypse on the way which won’t be worrying us with the rule of 3.
I really don’t see the issue with getting a bunch of the same thing, it creates demand, and without demand there’s not going to be any more of these after this 80 issue run. Everyone who has access to the internet has been able to pre-order these for months. Anyone relying on getting these in shops is liable to be disappointed as these will no doubt be two of the hottest selling issues, and people will just buy every one they can from shelves. If people are so scared of missing out, they can always subscribe and guarantee themselves one of each issue.

Especially as it's still possible to use more than 3 anyway. 4 is available right away at bigger battles and if you play 6k+ type of game is rule of 3 really going to be enforced? Especially as it's rule of 4 at one point anyway. Something I have noticed with magnetizing storing the spare parts is PITA. More pieces to have around and in danger of being lost. Couple that to magnetized model being just 1 for games while 2 allows you to field 2...

I assume that their contract between each other specified X amount of thousands of sprues to be made for each issue. Once those are gone they are gone, no churning out more coloured sprues.
I think the true test of how GW sees the relationship as having gone is if we get an AOS version of Conquest.

Don't be concerned, GW corporate very much approves of Hachette Publishing and this program, and Hachette broke even on their own costs months ago. Rumour has it (from GW sources) an AoS version is well under way.

Who is the major partner in this? I mean, the parent Hachette Book Group dwarfs GW, but I'm not sure how far down the tree Hachette Partworks is.

Presumably the AOS version will be Stormcast vs Nighthaunt, which is a shame as I have no love for either of those factions.
Hopefully it will happen further on down the line after a new edition, if it was something like Slaves to Darkness vs Free Peoples using totally new sculpts I would cream myself, but the chance of that happening is prolly less than zero

Further down the line, yeah maybe it won’t be Nighthaunt.
It would definitely be Stormcast though..
Though it will be, those current ETB kits won’t be going anywhere for a while.
And as with Conquest, them and a chunk of starter Set stuff, that sets you up for quite a lot of issues.
Nighthaunt are set up nicely for it.

Reasons to not magnetise a model (some apply to me, some don't)
Need to buy magnets
Need to convert models
Need to store extra weapons (if you have a cabinet to display your models, what do you do with the weapons? Stick them in a drawer? Place them lamely on the shelf next to the parent model?)
Models with moving parts are inherently more unstable
Wear and tear around the parts that you're attaching / detaching

Yeah GW have their own publishing arm and do White Dwarf which has circulation in newsagents. If this goes well, if I'm GW I'm certainly asking if I *need* Hachette for a future release - especially if I'm getting feedback from customers that their service levels leave something to be desired.

It went well before, yet they still got someone else to do Conquest.
They won’t give themselves a load of extra work (the WD team is small for a start, they are downsizing it not increasing in recent years), when they can just let someone else do it and get given money for little effort.

That's fair enough, but in that situation you takes your chances. I went through the release list and decided in advance how many of each I want, and gave that list to the newsagents, since it's easy to see and decide what I want.

Well, except for the magazine and a couple(?) of the issues - (Primaris Lt and ...?) all of the models are available from GW at the standard price, so finding the models should be pretty easy for anyone. The magazines for beginners might be a different story, though... I magnetise things like vehicle weapons, turrets, cupolas, dreadnought arms, drop pod doors.
I don't magnetise things like infantry heavy or soecial weapons, heads, etc.
I might be tempted to magnetise some weapons/loadout (ie, jump pack) on a hero model, in some circumstances.

Oh, heck yes. I was at a Horus heresy event over the weekend, using my new Palatine Blades with magnetised optional jump packs. Every time I went to pick them up or move them, the jump packs moved or fell off.

Mine normally arrives on the thursday or friday after the release of the last of the 4 issues included. so, for example with this delivery I would normally receive it yesterday or today as the last in the set of 4 was released on wednesday the 19th. It has been pretty regular for a few months now for me. On the flip side though I have also got an email about delayed dispatch for this set.
I dont mind it being late, Its not like I have an empty project desk anyway!!!!
