Hi guys!
Thought I’d give you guys a little battle report.
He had 3 units of 6 or 7 dark reapers, eldrad, the girl with the dog, 3 flyers, 2x20 guardians, a squad of scouts? And another hq and a 2 wound psycher. Las wegas open winning list?
I had 22 units, so he obviously got +1 on his roll, he won and decided to let me go first since he almost had nothing to shoot at turn one, all I had on the board was the neurothrope, termagants as screen, the biovores, thugs guard(hidden), spore mines as DS denial.
I think he had plans to DS the 2x20 guardians, because they weren’t on the board. He had no screen, so could just drop down with the flyrants and get to work. I got control of 3-4 of the board with lictors, rippers and spore mines. Took out a squad of dark reapers and a flyer turn 1. I regret not throwing everything into eldrad and his dark reapers bodyguard turn one. He also had a cheap psycher and another hq as bodyguard, but I didn’t really matter as you’ll soon discover.
In eldar turn 1 he really struggled, his psychic powers got denied, failed and really messed with him. Deepest shadow, shadow of the warp and my warlordtrait to take d3 Mw when he failed a psychic test really (please do not swear) him. It broke him, his shooting was also weak I took some wound to over watch in my turn, but he failed to bring down any of the flyrants. After that he kind of gave up.
He was so demotivated from not taking out my WL, knowing he would get punished yet another round in his psychic phase since his army revolves around d psychic powers buffing his units and debuffing mine. My turn 2 I took out eldrad and his bodyguard and at that point we called it. He should have used some guardians to screen.
He said that list won the Las wegas open, I found the list quite easy to deal with, but then again he made quite a few mistakes.
Edit: dark reapers, not dire avengers

This is a lesson where its the player, not the list, that wins. He left himself wide open to be taken apart by your list, to be completely honest.
4 winged tyrants instantly screams "Deep strike inc!" and he should have taken first turn to make it so your deep strike would be blunted and you'd have to be careful where to go. Yes, he may not have killed any models, but his board position would have been way better for later turns.

Take some pics next time tho
Forgot to take any pics, but I had another game vs khorne daemons and it really tested my ability to get deep struck if you can call it that.
There is really a balance between when you need to play offensively and when you need to defend. A list needs to be able to do both imo. I need to find a balance here, I am looking to fit some vsnomthropes in my list.
