Hi there,

I'm the owner and developer of https://miniheadquarters.com, a website to store, share and discover 40k army lists.

I'm thinking about a new feature, and I would like to know if you guys would be interested.

Basically, you would be able to log all your battles: you select the army lists, set a winner, the score, the date, add a battle report if you want, etc.

The, you'll be able to see a lot of stats: which army wins the most (and in which context), what are your odds in a specific matchup, what are the results of a specific list, etc, etc.

Would you be interested by that kind of system implemented on https://miniheadquarters.com?

Tel me what you think

Have a nice day!

I like to write battle reports, so of course I'd love this! I also would like an easy place to see stats on matchups, which this would be great for; however, the largest issue I could see is getting buy-in. Stats are great, but only if a lot of people use the system, to give an accurate representation.

If you could upload your battlescribe list then add in results like the bloodbowl tools that would be good - even better if you could have a page for your club...

QUERIES: How would you validate the data? Would it be peer reviewed, or would the two people in a battle have to both agree, or other? I think it's a good idea, but it needs some kind of review in order to keep it legitimate and reliable, and sooner rather than later as that's hard to undo.
I notice your site does not allow one to create a list within it, and only allows the uploading of lists. How does this information need to be formatted within a .pdf or a .txt file?

DREAM: I'd like a feature in a list builder where I could put in the models that I own, and then be able to add and remove them, or even click and drag them, into lists and rearrange them into different detachments.
Then having a "wishlist" to fill gaps in the army or even suggestions of similar detachment and their win/loss would be helpful. You could then gain revenue by advertising stores which sell those units and selling the data . I bet even GW doesn't have much detailed information on what units are used and by whom, as some people just collect and paint the models, or even buy box sets and then split them up.

BUG: When attempting to download at least one list I've discovered that I get an XML error:
To replicate it, go the following list and then click download list.

Symptoms:
1) The URL changes to:

I currently use boardgamegeek.com's "Plays" feature to record plays (along with all of the details) for W40k and many other games.

I would like to see popularity of units. How common is a unit used within an army, ideally at what typical quantity.

I think success rate of an army is arbitrary unless you're looking at competitive statistics only. However you can get a general idea of what units "work" when you look at their popularity across all lists. Sort of like the climate of the armies meta. The masses generally figure out what units are good, and with that knowledge I can make my own list from there.

I've been looking for exactly this. Been tempted to start development of my own as I just can't find anything.

@OP - Am I right in thinking you can't edit the contents of your list once on your website? I did a test list with just one unit, but then couldn't add anything else.

Its weird because I have started this exact thing on an excel spreadhseet for my small gaming crew of 5 players.

I would love to expand it to a larger group but my skills are sadly lacking in tracking data.

PLEASE DO THIS and I would happily even pay a small fee for a decent system

Edit: Just checked out your website and its a really neat idea. I'm registering right now.
