Im getting stumped on what i should do about an intresting problem i have.

I need to make a CSM flying DP for my renegades. they arent full blown pirates but they have a tinge of pirate flavor on them (like a hellbrute with a heavy bolter peg leg because i lost the foot and i got mad)

So i need to come up with an idea for the flying DP. i dont think i want to go ham on full on the theme just a hint here or there. Any ideas?

Im sort of thinking sea monster themes for the mutations since some of the new deathguard guys have cool looking octopi tentacles floating around and those shouldnt be too hard to sculpt. and crab claws are an easy bit to find.
the hardest part is the flying part.

i dont think i want to go feathery wings though an albatross dp would be pretty funny. alternatively i may need to go watch treasure planet for some inspiration (any other cool space pirate movies i should go watch?)

For flight stuff with a pirate theme you're probably looking at something steam punky. Or thinking about it, what about ramshackle wings made from broken spare and yards tied together with ropes with tattered sails strung between as the flight membrane?

In terms of the theme, classic 1ith century pirates are by definition a bit hammy as they did go after all the shiny things

Unless you go for a dread pirate Roberts flat black look.

Flying fish wing/fins? No idea how you'd model them though...

Inital though was to ditch the wings and go for something different. like a magic warp powered grapple hook or anchor using the skaven screaming bell oger arm

Have him holding a magic block and tackle that works using skyhooks

Are you familiar with Don Lawrence, creator of the "Storm" comic books? Google that for pics, there are some pretty cool monsters/monster men in that verse that might fit your space pirate-ish look.
Or check for deep sea creatures.

Give it a metal plate over an eye as a make shift eye patch.

It has some very cool art work indeed though also apparently nsfw (im at work atm )

also pretty stoked about these new underwater friends sea elf army. gotta pick at that to see what i can steal.
