I don't think so - personally, if you want to roll the Genestealer Cults into the same book as the Tyranids, you should just merge all the Space Marines (Grey Knights, Deathwatch, the lot) into one book.

Genestealer Cults are a seperate force, with their own hierarchies, chains of command, etc etc. They're not PART of the Hive Fleets, per say, and they do share several units (Genestealers), but they still have a different way of functioning as an army. They have enough kits to be distinguishable, enough unique units to have a niche of their own (assymetrical combat and rapid in-your-face fighting), moreso than many of the Space Marine variants.

Vigo. Spain.

I agree with Smudge, I voted no.

We need more Xenos variation no less.

Dakka does have White Knights and is also rather infamous for it's Black Knights. A new edition brings out the passionate and not all of them are good at expressing themselves in written form. There have been plenty of hysterical responses from both sides so far. So we descend into pointless bickering with neither side listening to each other. So posting here becomes more masturbation than conversation.

No from me. I like the GSC as a separate faction.

At that point, you wouldn't be doing "all the Space Marines into one book". You'd be rolling Space Marines and Imperial Guard into the same book.

They don't even "share" those units. Genestealers from GSC were different until recently.

Personally, any time people argue "X needs to be rolled into one book!" I ignore them. Their ideas are generally just because they want to be able to run soup lists without paying out of the nose for the books.

Nope. Absolutely not.

They're a completely separate entity to the Hive Fleets, who's only notable feature in terms of relationship to the Hive is a tendency to be eaten last.

To the Hive Mind, they're an After Eight, not an Ally.

No, they should be separate. They may be small potatoes next to the Tyranids, but they are a clear and distinct faction on their own.

'Should' for what reason?
Sales, convenience, clarity, value?

For whatever reason you would deem it necessary.

No. They only share one unit with nids and have a very unique playstyle.

Cool. Then I'll pick 'Yes' for resale value. There would be more chance of me being able to offload one of my 2 outdated codex before a new one comes along.

I voted yes, because I prefer thicker, broader books that contain subfactions within the pages. My favourite codex is the 2nd ed Chaos book, which contained specific rules for chaos space marines, daemons, daemon worlds, cults and all the available units and more besides. More books like that would please me. I also really like the Index books. They are really fun to read, with so much going on inside one cover. Combine the Index with 2nd ed Chaos and you would have one hell of a book.

Is it actually true that sub faction codices increase book sales, as the cynics claim? Personally, I would more likely buy an Eldar book if I could get all Eldar in one book. As it is, I can't be bothered, because I don't want an Eldar book that is "incomplete".

If they were then there'd be a lot of Tyranid/Genstealer players complaining about why they have to buy a bigger (likely more expensive) codex if they are never going to use the other army.

In addition don't forget that the Genestealers Cults are actually closer to Imperial Guard (AM) than they are to Tyranids. If anything the Cult would be better put into the AM codex since they actually share a lot of units with AM. Heck most of the Genestealer models are just AM models with a few extra Stealer bits/details.

That said GW does each army to its own codex so it makes more sense for the cult, as it stands, to be on its own. It's not just a few stealers and halfbreeds, but almost the entire AM force. So that's a significant chunk of troops and a full fledged army in its own right. Better that it is in its own book and balanced on its own.

I like GSC, but I'm not willing to sacrifice a dozen pages of the tyranid codex to make room for them. Let them have their own codex that deals with the complexities of their cross faction abilities.

I picked 'Yes', because then I would already have them in my codex today.
Instead of maybe next year or so...?

It's my understanding that Genestealers will be released this year along with the rest of the Codex for 8th edition. So far few are scheduled for next year; Sisters of Battle are since they were a new return after the survey. I've also heard a few rumours that Kroot might appear next year as well, but that has't been confirmed at all and has a big question mark over it at this stage.
