They aren’t in this coming codex release, are they? This isn’t a list of everybody that doesn’t have a codex, but rather the next three confirmed Codexes that are being put out.

If the truth can destroy it, then it deserves to be destroyed.

Sisters are suppose to get trial rules around December, probably in Chapter Approved, and plastic models next year.

So I'm waitin'.

1. Orks
2. Sisters
3. Inq
4. Space Wolves

Granted I have zero expectations for any of them being good or interesting but I want them to come out and see what happens.

Also Sisters. Orks also kind of. Always wanted a Kult Of Speed army.

I want to get excited for Knights because I'd love for a sweet book with ranks and abilities and roles like the FW list. I know that deep down it'll be a pretty simplistic book, but I'm still ultimately okay with that. I need a low model count army because I'm getting tired of putting together Guardsmen.

Personally, of those three, I'm looking forward to the Deathwatch book.

Even if it's not "I'm going to play these as my primary force," good, I like my Deathwatch guys [they're based off my Deathwatch RPG players!] to see the table.

While I did get the two little knights from Forgebane, and intend to buy a few more to complete them as a force, I have strong reservations about their playstyle. The big knight looks like it has a Volcano Cannon, though, and that might make we want to buy him and field him.

Guardsmen, hear me! Cadia may lie in ruin, but her proud people do not! For each brother and sister who gave their lives to Him as martyrs, we will reap a vengeance fiftyfold! Cadia may be no more, but will never be forgotten; our foes shall tremble in fear at the name, for their doom shall come from the barrels of Cadian guns, fired by Cadian hands! Forward, for vengeance and retribution, in His name and the names of our fallen comrades!

Knights so I see more on the table.
Orks so I see more on the table.
GSC because I love, love, love their models and want to see more of them on the table. I might collect some as well, to go with my growing Tyranid army. It would also give me an excuse to purchase some Guard.

Sisters!

Why don´t you play Imperial Knights Renegade, if you want to have a Battletech experience? This game even has damage locations which 8th lacks.

Well, I was referring the table top game specifically. I have access to a plethora of BT universe videogames, but sometimes it's fun to smash someone's face with a giant robot, and it can be hard to get random BT pickup games.

From that list? Death Watch seem fun (if I collected Primaris).

But as for my 4 Armies I collect, Orkz are the last I'm waiting on. So Orkz!

Harlequins because I still can't believe people were calling this the year of the Xenos.

Out of this list I'm very interested in the knight codex, followed closely by the harlequin codex.

I'm most interested in the Ork codex, though. I want SNAKEBITES!

None of them, IMHO all three armies shouldn't even exist. Deathwatch and harlequins should be part of the already existing SM and drukhari codexes and imperial knights.... well they should just be a LoW choice in some imperium codex.

Drukhari? They used to be craftworld. But then you could get them in dark eldars as well. And then if you put them in both you'll end up quickly with identical models, different rules(GW has been there, done that)

4 xenos, 3 imperium,2 chaos. Imperium will likely get 1 more, xenos 1-2 more so unless gw comes up with new never before codexes sure looks xenos got most codexes this year.

It was hard to make year of imperium for example since those were mostly covered last year.

IK for me.

DW or Harlies aren’t that interesting given all the Astartes and Eldar love already in 8th.

I'd love to see if the new knights choices can make knights a fun/interesting army to play against for the very first time.

The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

Great Harlequin? They're also supposed to have Wraithlord equivelants guarding the Black Library. So thats 3 already off the top of my head with Mimes.

Of course what they used to have in fluff before never stopped GW from making new stuff. If it did model lines would be pretty poor! No predator annihilator or even predator for that matter etc

I'm also not sure where this rule came from where if you're not a marine you can only have units or equipment that you had access to in the earlier editions of the game. I can list off dozens of units that the various marine factions never had access to back when they were just some lore tacked onto a color palette, and I don't think anyone is going to argue particularly hard that those units don't make the game more interesting, deeper or better for modeling. Similarly we had probably the best major model releases of the past few years, genestealer Cults and Admech, who were a wonderful mix of callback units and brand new concepts added in. So what's wrong with "just making stuff up"?

For starters, we already have Harlequin units that are only roughly based on 2nd ed concepts. Harlequins used to be able to take Vypers, they modified that idea into the Starweaver/voidweaver, and they also used to be able to take Harlequin riders on regular Eldar Jetbikes with shuriken catapults - but because they were harlequins and could take melee weapons, they were used as melee shock units by players and they modified them into the Skyweavers we have now.

If you want to go that route, Harlequins had an Avatar (back in the era when the Avatar of Khaine was just a model on a 25mm base as well), they had access to Eldar Dreadnoughts, War Walkers, Falcon tanks and grav-platforms (because Eldar and Harlequins shared a Support unit pool). You could adapt any of those units similarly to skyweavers or voidweavers. You could also go the route of making a heavy infantry elite unit out of the "dread guardians" of the black library who are occasionally mentioned - I'd love to see some really crazy Harlequin wraith constructs.

Indeed, the old codex from Gav Thorpe had these units included. Not a bad codex if you ask me.
