With no news of the Ork codex I'm hearing more and more outlandish rumours. Only a few months ago"news sites" (hahahaaaa I make myself laugh sometimes) published entire articles going into detail on a new ork model seen, when it was already confirmed it was a converted model before those stories even came out. This makes me wonder, what's the most outlandish untrue rumour you have ever heard and what is the most outlandish and untrue rumour in 40k history?

"DE codex next year"

"fires of cyraxus right around the corner with 40k rules for FW adeptus mechanicus units"

This rumor literally came out when Skitarii dropped for 40k. How many years ago was that now?

"All named characters will be receiving models"

Well, I guess it was somewhat true... only they achieved it by deleting all the named characters without models, so it wasn't exactly what I was hyped for.

Instead of doing that, they gave us so many great, more awesomer characters that are now much more beloved than those ones we lost!

After all, who wants to have a model for Lady Malys when you could have such an awesome, memorable hero as "the Visarch" and "Yvraine"? Remember how great the fluff for The Visarch is? How hes a guy with a sword? A swordguy? And how he never says anything and that's his character and he has a dark and mysterious past? How could you possibly have wanted one of those gakky, stupid Harlequin characters like Motley or Sylandri Veilwalker when instead you get the sheer coolness that is Yvraine! She has eyes that are two different colors and shes so awesome she fought lelith and she's so awesome she brought back roberto guillarmo and harry potter and edward cullen both proposed to her the second they laid eyes on her because shes so great but she said no because she's a strong independent woman.

Why would you even want to have pre-existing characters added back into the game when you could get coolness like that? Or oh man - Voldus! Voldus is the man! EASILY the best grey knight character ever, so highly sought after that GW had to create a special guide for all the GK players who got seventeen copies of him from all the other people who bought the marine triumvirate for guilliman and cypher to chop up the extra volduses and put them into dreadknights.

So many memorable characters introduced that we've grown to love throughout the last few editions. Inriam's Spectre! Jensus Natorian! Ortan Trysst! Edryc Setorax! Murderfang! Aun'Vre! All these names that I am not in fact making up and are indeed named characters GW has actually created in the last two editions of the game!

Lots of points for memory. (Also still mystified why "Yvraine" isn't "Lady Malys". It would have made sense if they were going to do something else with Malys, but no, she can carry on hiding in the background.)

Wasn't the most outlandish rumour that entire fan re-write of... 6th edition (?) that went round the forums before the proper rulebook dropped? I fear I am ruining the story by not remembering the details.

The next edition will be the best one yet!

Hah, yes!

Reminds me of WoW and all the people that think the Devs are biased against Horde or Alliance. Like the people who make the game are so obsessed with their faction that they'll nerf the other one. Instead of like... Just trying to make a good game. So dumb haha

They don't really understand Space Marines in general. Why a Space Marine costs three times as much as a Guardsman is beyond me. For the Armor Save that doesn't really do anything great or the beyond mediocre shooting?

When I started things like "new army, death watch" "Primarchs returning" "the storyline will move forward" where the outlandish rumors now they're happening.... it's a weird feeling

Well these was a huge rumour saying a dev team member told everyone the Orks come out in December. Whihc is most likely a lie now but was reported on by lots and lots of people.

I seem to recall hearing it was Speed Freaks in december, still seems a bit odd as generally GW avoids a codex release in december and december is all about "discount packs"

To be fair this was almost achieved. My money would be on a big end of summer release for SW/Orks to round out the first draft of codexes before they release SM again and start the power creep cycle anew.

My brothers mates uncles hairdressers nephew says he works for GW an we will get codex special super uber marines. They're like primaris but 2cm taller.

I actually did enjoy that time before the custodes were revealed when everyone was finding all sorts of skulls and heads and shapes in a vague picture. That's the kind of rumoring i like.

We will get a Sister codex that ISN'T just a .pdf of a 3-page White Dwarf article.

Sisters will get a Codex for this edition and the next edition WON'T drop six weeks later.
