So, Deathwatch Kill Teams don't come with bolt pistols, and can't take them (despite having two guys featured with them in the Faction Focus).

They also can't take Plasma Pistols, Chainswords, or Power Axes, all of which makes me sad. I had hoped to use Kill Team Cassius as my Kill Team (even though I suspected I probably wouldn't get to use the Terminator, Jump Pack guys, or Biker, or Librarian), but now I can't field Cassius (Power Maul and Bolt Pistol) or the Dark Angel (plasma pistol and power sword) or the Space Wolf (two close combat weapons, including the Chainsword).

I'm super disappointed that normal Deathwatch Veterans that you can construct in the basic box (with bolt pistols) aren't even legal. I had hoped that the Deathwatch would keep to the many and varied options of teams like Cassius (where you could have Librarians, Assault Marines, etc.) but I had at least expected them to be equipped no worse than Tactical Marines.

Aww really? That's lame. I pre-preserved my killteam box but haven't had a chance to pick it up yet. I did download the kill team data for BattleScribe but had hoped it wasn't complete yet. BattleScribe showed units could take a SS and cc weapon but not SS and gun which is a bummer for me. I also wish we could have stormbolters as I have many vets modeled that way for my 40k deathwatch.

There are some really frustrating things elsewhere too. Chaos marines can swap their bolter for a chainsword, but not get both, as they can in the regular codex, for example. Tactical marines can't represent Blood Angels by having a Heavy Flamer. Genestealers in a GSC list instead of a Tyranid list don't get Cult Ambush like all of the other GSC units.

None of it game-breaking, but all slightly niggly.

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.

I saw this also... thought it was a mistake and accidently left it off the list profile...

But is also missing from the weapons list meaning it was never meant to be... even though the miniatures have them...

The lists and equipment are all over the place, stuff missing, stuff that should have been added,

its a mess.

As always the best course of action in these cases is the RAW and play the way you want to. There are about a million versions of the 40k rules with point values and equipment stats, it should be easy to come up with reasonable costs and rules for anything you want to use.

I’m annoyed that Poxwalkers went from being fearless in 40k to having the worst leadership in all of Kill Team. Cowardly zombies?

I like on the necron list that all weapon upgrades have a zero cost... need to spend a few extra points...nope..

I am not surprised after the Necromunda rules experience. That´s GW at it´s best. I would advice you to come up with some house rules so you can use your Deathwatch minis.

There are no bolt pistols in the DW Veterans box, though. There are boltguns held one-handed, which might be what you're thinking of?

A little bit of righteous anger now and then is good, actually. Don't trust a person who never gets angry.

I cannot recall a more poorly written rule book, with more head-scratching omissions, in my entire life as a GW games player. I'm really bummed out.

I don’t see bolt pistols in the faction focus, and they aren’t in my killteam squad box either.

If it isn’t in the box with the miniatures, you won’t be able to use it in Kill Team, it seems. I’m pretty sure that’s been established for a while, though.

As Duskweaver pointed out they are one handed bolters.. I mistook them as bolt pistols also..

Not in the kit.

Not in the kit, not in the kit and also not in the kit.

The asinine weapon restrictions in Kill Team seem to be a hold-over from the start of 8th. I don't know why they would want to go backwards with this.

Seems pretty reasonable to me. They want to make it easy for people to just grab the starter kit and start playing, plus make it easier to maintain balance.

I was at my flgs Saturday and they had STACKS of pre-order kill team boxes, so maybe GW doesn't care about mildly offending a few die hard old schoolers in order to bring the game to more and new people.

Or maybe a lot of people want cheap-ish terrain with some minis and don't care diddly feth about the game they come bundled with.

I mean, it's not exactly as it hasn't happened before...

Lol agreed. I found myself being the only one cracking jokes and being jovial at the last two tournaments I went to at my FLGS.

Only thing that's really strange is that you can't do bolter plus storm shield, which is a box option. Odd but I'm not mad about it.

I'm usually for (the first and second point ^^).
But be carefull here because some cost are "included" into the character cost.
For exemple, an heavy bolter is 3 pt for a marine, but an infernus heavy bolter (really better) is 2 pt for a deathwatch marine.
Or the power glove whose the cost is 4 for the marines and 2 for the guards.
So far, the only exchange seeming ok is marine vs chaos marine (giving a missile-launcher to these heretics, for example).
