Picked up the DI Primaris Marines for my son so he could battle my Orks. I showed him a few of the different chapters to choose a color scheme from. He loves dinosaurs / dragons and since I play Orks he naturally picked Salamanders. More green for me, here’s the first one I painted for him. I haven’t painted marines in a really long time, these were fun.

Yep, that there is a well painted Salamander. Whole force of them would look very shmicko.

That is a really solid looking Salamander. Maybe hit the bolter and sword with a drybrush of a metallic to finish it off.

Interesting. Normally I don't like heavy highlights like this, but this actually works really well - almost like the armor is extra polished. I agree an entire force of this would look very striking.

Thanks everyone. Even though I didn't want to paint another green army I have always liked the Salamanders. The green / gold / black is just a good overall color scheme.

Thanks, working on the first squad of 5 intercessors right now. Have the base coat and shade done, now just touching up the base color on the armor to get ready for highlights.
