Something to do with rarity what with being experimental weapon. Not every legion has them. Read bit of HH fluff one day and then start the real game for those that want good rules.

I don't care about HH. But assault cannons are ubiquitous in 40K era, so all chapters being able to arm their Leviathans with them should be no big deal.

They shouldn't because it's explicitly a BA thing.

I don't get why. It is just an assault cannon, everyone has those. I don't see what bolting assault cannons on your dreadnoughts has to do with being a space vampire.

In 30k it's not an established weapon, only BA have it and it's not jusxt for their Leviathans. It shouldn't be made available to anyone else in 30k.

In 40k Leviathans are chapter relics, you don't get permission to toy around with those and bolt on different wepaons. Tech-heresy!

Ergo, assault cannons on Leviathans stay BA.

Other chapters in 40k don't have permission to just go sticking assault cannons on their predators like the BA have, so why should they get to do it to a 30k era relic?

Slight correction. Imperial fists also have it though fewer units can have one. No rhino with assault cannon for example like blood angels can get.

Don't suppose you could clarify this a bit: there are models coming that exist at the moment in the background but don't currently have miniatures?

That never made any sense either, and it makes even less sense now that Cawl is constantly introducing completely new tech. Changing weapon on an existing vehicle is small beans compared to grav tanks. These sort of things are just pointless distinctions that limit how people can build their models. Assault cannons are not in any meaningful way related to the unique theme of the Blood Angels.

The rumor engine had what we thought to be a Slaanesh claw though, and it’s on those nurgle killteam models. Or rogue trader. Whichever. Blah. Hopes for Slaanesh stuff are being dashed!

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Preeeeeeeeettty sure it's different claws, since the rumor engines came much later after the initial reveal of Rogue Trader.

Don't really see the fuss about the Sororitas guns? They're well rendered sure but the level of detail is nothing more or less than we've been seeing in recent releases any way. Great use of the Fleur de Lis I suppose.

The fuss is mainly down to exactly that - they're not plastered with ludicrous over the top detailing, they're not radically different than the existing designs, they're just those existing designs updated and enhanced with modern levels of quality. Also, the renders include the "special" bolters(Condemnor and Stormbolter), and show that they're sized well.

This whole process is an exercise in rebuilding trust for GW and the bolter renders show they understand that, that they understand what Sisters players on the whole want, and the initial Sister render wasn't a fluke.

I need that bull. Man what an amazing model (half). I've long searched for a decent bull mini to mount a Nurgle knight, but outside of the Arena Rex Nero and the FW Taurus, ehh.

And I want the Nurgle BB team. And Speed Freeks. And Sororitas. And like a third of the Cawdor weapons.

And in the future: A Lizardman team with lots auf Saurus Warriors looking like the beefed up hero from the Carnosaur kit.

Looking for a Skaven Doomwheel banner to repair my Nurgle knights.

I was a little disappointed they didn’t show more Ork stuff, but at least they confirmed October, so I guess that’s something. As usual, they tucked a bunch teaser stuff out of focus in the one picture, but at this point I don’t care. I’ll just wait now it seems that we won’t likely get much of a spoiler beyond the traditional week before.

Personally not a fan of the formula one vibe of the yellow buggy, but I suppose one could always trim off the spoilers and add different wheels. I'm curious if these will have rules for general 40K or if they will be Speed Freaks exclusives, only because they're so varied.

I panicked a little bit when I saw the Bolt Rifle in the sisters weapons preview, but I've convinced myself that's just there for scale. Its actually really cool that they scaled down the sister's bolter from the SM one.

It is just for scale and they've stated as much. Bolt Rifle, Godwyn-pattern Boltgun, then suitably-scaled Sisters Boltgun.

No convincing required. That's the exact reason it's there. They're showing how both are based off the standard Godwyn style Bolter.

They're two different kinds of buggy, from the community site: "This boxed set pits you against a friend in a series of death races between a variety of Orkish speedsters, including the aforementioned Kustom Boosta-blasta and the Shokkjump Dragsta – a racer that uses shokk-attack technology to project itself ahead of the competition – or just into anyone that looks like they need smashin’ up."

Those will probably be different dataslates.

I think I can wait at this point. I’ll pick up the the Rogue Trader box next month, and try to heed Yoda’s advice and not always be ‘looking to the future’, and be more mindful of the mountains of models I already have to paint and put together, and most importantly, play with.

There were tons of blind-box and blind-pack toy lines when I was wee as well, many of them were hugely popular, but they were never popular because they were blind-box, always despite it. Kids toy lines often go blind-box because companies know they can leverage the popularity of a character or show or game to sell extra - if a kid really wants Captain Awesome but there's only a 1-in-12 chance opening one of the Captain Awesome And Friends blind-boxes will actually get them Captain Awesome, odds are they'll buy several, and likely more than they would have if given a free choice to only buy the characters they genuinely wanted.

 Yodhrin wrote:

Rebuilding trust? WTF? For what? 'Cause their online team made some jokes as Sister's player's expense that they (predictably) took personally?

No because they've been neglecting the faction for nigh on twenty sodding years and folk were worried that now they finally are paying them some attention they'd be substantially altered. But yeah, sure - when you take the piss out of people, they tend not to like it, and if you then want those people to give you lots and lots of money you generally would have to show at least a few wee shreds of contrition, that's not unique to Sisters players.

To be fair to them, they did seem to be blindsided by how damn many people wanted sisters to get more attention. Which means they weren't fething listening, but still, all of the examples we've seen have been good, no need to be this hacked off about a technically true joke. They did have plastic sisters, three of them total, which was plenty disappointing and not available in their own box for what, half a year? But they weren't lying and you set your own expectations on that one.
