Alrighty. So I said only two days ago that I wouldn't post more over-exposed, crappy pics. Then yesterday I posted this



in my other WIP thread. Which is blatantly an over-exposed, crappy pic. However, nothing I did to change the level of light made any real difference. In fact, the camera wanted to use the flash while the pics came out terribly, terribly over-exposed. So I decided to investigate and learn how to use my camera's manual settings.

My lightbox has two strips of LEDs, here's an unedited pic using both light-strips after ten or fifteen minutes of messing around with Shutter Speeds, ISOs and White Balances



Yeah, I realize I've gone too far the other way and this is under-exposed, but it's a vast improvement from the unedited version of the spoilered pic, above, which was taken using only one light-strip and the camera's automatic close-up setting.

Gotta ask though, the barricade is made out of what exactly?

They're made from the resin blocks Zarakynel is delivered on, some spare bike bases from the Seekers box and Army Painter Razor Wire.

I'm disappointed they ended up so short, but hey-ho.

So that's everything I need to finish the counts-as Contorted Epitome and an Emperor's Children Lord, Dark Apostle and 3 Sorcerors. Also to squeeze an extra DP out of the DP box, if I ever get around to buying one.

The Lord isn't holding anything in his right-hand, it's just a bit from the Possessed sprue.

That's an excellent question and when I know, I'll be sure to let you know.

As of right now, I'm sort of in a holding-pattern while waiting to see whether an Emperor's Children book is forthcoming or not, so I'm sticking to the five HQs until I know what's up. They'll be fully-magnetized so that if I need to change them up for the new Codex (if there is one) I can do so easily. Lord is also going to be usable as a count-as Lucius, for example.

Really, I bought the Possessed at this point because I could add over 500pts to my 'soup' by spending about $65 CAD, even though they aren't really at all usable in game.

With some Greater possesed and the one or other MoP they make decentish melee units.
Altough decentish is used in VEEEERY loose terms here

Oh, no, the Possessed aren't being built as Possessed. I got the bits and I'm going to GS capes and tabards on them to make a Lord, Dark Apostle and three Sorcerors.

Until I know what's happening vis-a-vis an EC book, I'm not planning to add anything else to the Heretic Astartes portion, 'cause knowing my luck it won't be in the new book.

That said, there's this guy on here who just painted some CSM in a ghost scheme and he makes a strong argument for adding a Heretic Astartes Detachment regardless of what happens to Emperor's Children.

Well, luck is just probability taken personally and there's a few things from Codex HA that Thousand Sons and Death Guard don't have access to, so probability says there's a decent chance that painting a Maulerfiend in EC colours is a bad call.

Also that they'll release new Noise Marine sculpts.
