I'm glad they've done this before the codex is released, but i'm also not surprised it's happened to begin with really.

My only question off the back of it though, is whether they realised/remembered about it with or without all the questions thrown at them after people watched the review videos...

As much as mistakes happen, and I'm glad GW are responding and fixing things quickly... jeez, we're at the point of having sheets of paper stuck in the codex on release day now.

I wish they were better on the digital offerings at least. Pretty sure I'd pay GW a subscription for an app that had fully day and date consistently corrected copies of all the books without having to cross reference FAQs and errata all the time.

Saga of Magesty excluding explodes is probably my favorite part of the whole table.

Games Workshop is finally on to the existence of BCB.

"Got you, Yugi! Your Rubric Marines can't fall back because I have declared the tertiary kaptaris ka'tah stance two, after the secondary dacatarai ka'tah last turn!"

"So you think, Kaiba! I declared my Thousand Sons the cult of Duplicity, which means all my psykers have access to the Sorcerous Facade power! Furthermore I will spend 8 Cabal Points to invoke Cabbalistic Focus, causing the rubrics to appear behind your custodes! The Vengeance for the Wronged and Sorcerous Fullisade stratagems along with the Malefic Maelstrom infernal pact evoked earlier in the command phase allows me to double their firepower, letting me wound on 2s and 3s!"

"you think it is you who has gotten me, yugi, but it is I who have gotten you! I declare the ever-vigilant stratagem to attack your rubrics with my custodes' ranged weapons, which with the new codex are now DAMAGE 2!!"

"...which leads you straight into my trap, Kaiba, you see I now declare the stratagem Implacable Automata, reducing all damage from your attacks by 1 and triggering my All is Dust special rule!"

So a day -4 patch. While I am glad that they have released the file to correct the issue, it is still a bit annoying.

Given how their release cycle has been ramped up to breakneck speeds, it isn't surprising to see mistakes like this creep in.

Hopefully they will learn from this and be a bit more vigilant.

The objective of the game is to win. The point of the game is to have fun. The two should never be confused.

Yeah, this is...kind of embarrassing.

Not sure I have much to add to what others have said. Overall GW has been doing great with the game lately, and while it's hard to keep sometimes up it's still refreshing to have content coming out so regularly.

That said, maybe they could stand to slow it down a little, or find some other way to perform quality control just a little bit better as far as their books go. Stuff like this isn't a huge deal, but it does feel sloppy when these little mistakes add up over time. Ah well.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

I'm not really sure what changed or where they messed up. They're the same sagas they previewed. Or is it that the codex won't have the sagas in them at all?

We live in an age where even the biggest, most competitive games receive constant updates to adjust balance on the fly. A mistake rectified is less annoying then one we just have to live with.

What is the actual errata?

"...and special thanks to Judgedoug!" - Alessio Cavatore "Now you've gone too far Doug! ... Too far... " - Rick Priestley "I've decided that I'd rather not have you as a member of TMP." - Editor, The Miniatures Page "I'd rather put my testicles through a mangle than spend any time gaming with you." - Richard, TooFatLardies "We need a Doug Craig in every store." - Warlord Games "Thank you for being here, Judge Doug!" - Adam Troke

The Sagas in the book as-printed only have the first part of the trait with no “suddenly aura” boost.

Anyway, here’s one for the FAQ: does Saga of Majesty buff it’s own Aura version? It doesn’t list itself in the list of exceptions…

So they're missing the Deed of Legend on each Trait, or the third paragraph of text at the top explaining about how to trigger the Deed of Legend?

Both and the actual Warlord traits are also different, i.e. Bear is in the print version +1 Wound, after FAQ a 6+++ with possible aura

I think they're just missing the top, table top tactics review game had the wolf lord giving out +1 attack in an aura from the saga of the wolfkin without completing the saga

They could have actually just made this bonus material with the FAQ and not admitted to any mistake.

I approve of this transparency and willingness to address things that didn't go to the printer in the way they wanted.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

No frozenwastes, that'e not why they did it.

They did it because only the English version has the older version of the rule. If they did not fix it, people will have two completely different rules depending on language.

I can't condone a place where abusers and abused are threated the same: it's destined to doom, so there is no reason to participate in it.

Many of the actual Warlord traits changed. Saga of Majesty was 12" Ignore morale, now is 3" greater aura range + Ignore morale self only, that becomes a 6" aura if Deed of Legend is passed.

I'm more interested in an expanded range for the rerolls for Grimnar than anything with morale to be honest.

I thought the TTT game had the +1 attack coming from either the Wulfen or the Wulfenstone relic, and not from any of the WL traits? They certainly didn't mention anything about deeds from WL traits iirc.

So I guess they really didn't have a choice?

I wonder if they could have gotten away with it if they would have just said nothing. So I was probably exactly wrong.
