I have no idea how you make that judgement from that picture lol

It may well be weak, but good games don't require a lot of pieces.

Easy: Lackluster Terrain, super thin book. I was looking for hobby value, not for a new game.

You can tell the terrain is lacklustre from that photo?

It’s a board game. ‘Terrain’ was always going to be tiles. And if you aren’t looking for a new game why does the thin rulebook matter?

Perhaps they have decided to provide BS fortress with regular updates just like the "popular" Necromunda gang war books.

Im a bit weary of these new games that keep coming out, its a toss up as to whether they are going to get any support at all and the last ones I bought I only really used the models and never really played the game more than once or twice.

Saying that I still want this one just for the models, they really are the selling point here as usual !!

Because next to the rules there won't be much space for the lore or RPG content some were hoping for. Also, Speed freaks comes with terrain, so one or two thematic pieces would have been reasonable.

Not saying the product is bad, just that it's not what I was hoping for. Some of the miniatures are still a must-buy for me.

Really disappointed by the look of that, don’t like the look of hex tiles, there’s a wafer thin rule book.

And it was going so well.

Good; more copies left for me, then.

Those product images are usually manipulated images; That's not simply a photograph of all the bits laid out at once. Tthe box and the rulebook are almost certainly not actual photographs of the items themselves.

Doesn't matter. Mod just straight up deleted my post.

Either way, the price here ain't so reasonable.

I agree that the slim rulebook is a bit concerning. The tiles could be great if they are used well. It looks like there are several different configurations not just single tiles.
Silver tower had you removing rooms as you cleared, but as each board was tied to a scenario, once you had visited each room once it started to get quite repetitive.
If the hexes can be combined in different ways to create unique rooms it could improve the replayability.
I'm still looking forward to the reveal. Less than 12 hours to go!

Without knowing anything more, I'm wondering if this is their way of adding an "Underworlds" styled of game that can be played quickly with little listmaking necessary. They could add small little boxes with card products that expand the main game.

I guess they'll copy the Silvertower/Harrenhall approach. First set with small rulebook and all new minis, second set existing sprues repacked with meatier gameplay.

I have to admit that the image makes the game components look less than flattering, especially if you compare it to a billion KS games with enormous bosses. Especially for its price,

Which is a real shame because terrain was the forte of the two previous warhammer quest installments.

Sure beats releasing a brand new game every time they want to release a Kill Team of Blanchitsu minis. It will be the closest to RPG minis we get without ever acknowledging the RPG du jour.

Disappointed that there aren't many tiles and they are pretty small. Obviously it will have a "rolling dungeon" thing going on, like in Silver Tower. But I still would have expected some larger or more open areas.

I don't get why anyone would have a problem with it being hexes, though.

As someone who loves all tiles great and small (well, maybe not small), the hexes don't bother me. Actual proper big rooms would be preferable, but hexes aren't inherently bad.

The issue is that they look tiny, and don't look like something you could make much of a layout with.

I suspect this might be a ‘rolling road’ affair. Where once you start exploring, there’s simply no way back. You have to press through and get to the end.

Would seem to suit the smaller board, and indeed the info from the second video, about the BSF closing off the way you came.

And if there’s any kind of timing on that, could introduce an interesting new threat?

Silver Tower had a rulebook and separate quest guide though. I wonder if maybe they are shifting some of the quest stuff to an app? They tried one with Silver Tower and it could make the game more expandable.

First GW game I ever bought did that, but it did it with big nearly 1'x1' tiles.

Can’t see any of the models revealed already in that photo, the character teaser video had the giant robot with a mini gun. I call either fake or early prototype.

The "giant robot" was with two Ratlings...

If you look at the photo, the "giant robot" is present.
Spoiler:

You're looking for the model on the tiles, towards the upper middle of the shot. Looks like it's on a 40mm base and it's in a white-ish color.

I wonder if they’ll repurpose that silver tower phone app for characters here. It was pretty cool being able to download characters and keep track of upgrades.

I hope not. Paying for rules in that app was a big 100% nope for me.

I mean, they're potato camera pictures but it does look to be the case.

Remember that it was never going to be huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge. It has to fit on the tiles.

The Negavolt Cultist is pretty easily identifiable as it isn't on the tiles so the shape can be clearly seen against the white background.

looking at the amount of figures you get and the fact that each person will likely only buy 1 box, it makes sense for that price.
