If someone (or a beast?) gets into CC w/ my Kinniggitt, the rule that allows me to fall back and still shoot/cc speaks specifically of INFANTRY.

Am I amiss on this?
thanks!

That is correct. They can only fall back over infantry and swarms.

The Super-heavy Walker rule is explicit on what KEYWORDS the models need for it to be able to walk over them when falling back. If they don't have that keyword, they can't walk over them. Keep in mind the Codex rule is different from the Index rule. In either case, you can surround a Knight with, say, BIKER models, and it can't fall back though them.

Also keep in mind that you can still fall back if there is space to do so, just being in combat with a single Bike isn't going to stop you falling back.

Broken Sig Disclaimer: My YMDC answers are from a "What the rules, as written in the rulebook, actually say" perspective, not a "What I wish the rules said" perspective.

Thank you for the help, it's as disappointing as I thought.

Tho, is it that a mixed unit (including Infantry) enables the Knight to fall back and still do stuff? (Vs the concept that he can ALWAYS fall back, but without the grace of having a turn as well...)

Automatically Appended Next Post:
(as long as he's moving only literally the Infantry models and not directly over non-infantry, non-swarm?)

The Knight can still fall back, and shoot/charge no matter what assaults it, as long as it is not surrounded, and has a path out.

If the Knight gets SURROUNDED, it can only fall back over Infantry or Swarms. So if the Knight gets surrounded by Jetbikes, it's stuck.
