That's crazy! Nice job tracking those down, Impact
Thanks ... I had help from some friends I've made along the way. Was a great search and took months of negotiating. Very happy to have the files for when I can run the sequel.

Man, I'd totally show up for some of those hardsuits.

Yep, I am definitely in for the hardsuits. I am so happy you've been able to get these, Impact. So many people had been disappointed in what happened, but this definitely helps make up for that.

I reckon I'd use them as Tau Stealth Suits myself, but I could easily see them being used as Terminators as well if people wanted. I hope they'll be kept to a larger size to achieve both functions, but I am sure Impact is already on that.

Hey @Fenriswulf how big is "kept at a larger size" to you? Just checking

The pilot needs to be in 28mm scale, right, so that limits the amount of size adjustments that can be made in the "open" version?

Is there an alternate leg stance? If not, commissioning that might be a great stretch goal (and the next would be alternate arm bits, assuming they'll be cast as a separate piece)

I have 5 leg stances to work with. Because of the bulk ... I'm looking into options to get these cast up to make them affordable. 3-D Printing them would get expensive fast.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Just did a quick test. One set of Legs alone 3-D printed would be $8. So an entire Egg 3-D printed is probably going to be around $25. I'd like to get that down to more around $10 if I could.

You may consider running a KS for just the battle eggs.

I'd say likely Space Marine Terminator/Tau Stealth Suit size would be the go. The new GW sizes though, not the smaller sized Terminators. Stealth Suits are apparently 41mm to the top of the head (including antennae) and go on a 32mm base, so if they're around this size, or slightly larger, that would be ideal. Space Marine Terminator's are wider, and go on 40mm bases, but if I needed to I'd take the hit size wise for these fantastic sculpts.

I agree in your assessment for making these miniatures - Having them cast rather than 3d printed would be the best way to go. Print them at as high a resolution as possible for minimal pitting or printing lines (liquid resin printing is better than filament), but after that just use those for master molds to make copies from. I don't know if resin shrinkage might be something to worry about, and you might need them a few percent bigger, but I am sure you've got more experience in doing all this compared to myself.

I think I've heard this song before...

But seriously, I have faith in Impact to deliver on this, compared to the shonky Tony Reidy, so will definitely be interested for this, as either a kickstarter or otherwise.

Wow, five leg stances is fantastic!

I agree, this could probably be its own Kickstarter. Will definitely be tracking this

If I tried to make some 3-D prints of them at 15mm scale ... anyone have a thought on the total height? (this would be an additional offering to the full scale ones)
